Sorry you're feeling rotten. If it makes you feel any better, I'm seeing plenty of folks who aren't immune-compromised with sniffles and stomach flu. This time of year makes everybody feel run down.

Never underestimate the medicinal value of Chicken Soup.
If it doesn't cure a personn it sure makes one feel a lot better.

Re: Yowling Rant
I think there's actually some scientific documentation of the benefits of chicken soup.
It's on the menu for us tonight, that's for sure.

Re: Yowling Rant
Not the same! You need the anti-oxidants from the onions and/or garlic, carrots, celery...
Since JT introduced us to hot Thai chile paste, I find more and more things to put it in -- chicken soup being one of my favorites. I already flavor that with sofrito made of onion, garlic, peppers and cilantro I freeze in ice cubes during the fall, and I also throw in some frozen lovage (an herb that looks kind of like giant parsley but tastes like celery), but adding a little extra zing of hot chile never hurts.
I also like raisins in my chicken soup. Weird, I know. I was camping when someone taught me that little trick.

Re: Yowling Rant
Well I seasoned with cajun seasoning and garlic, pineapple juice and soy sauce, then finished with bbq sauce. That's gotta count for something !

Re: Yowling Rant
I'm sure it does.
Our measly 2-4 inch forecast has been upped to 7 inches, and I passed a car that had spun off the terrible road on my way home from college (naturally this is the day I had to be there until the afternoon for a training). Be careful what you ask for, right?
I'm still glad to see it, but I won't really be glad until Jaime's safe at home.
The training was on software you can use to spy on your students' computers while they're in lab supposedly doing whatever you told them to do. Ah, technology and its complications.

Re: Yowling Rant
ARGH!!! Can't there be a week where my family is illness-free?! That would be a record!
Son is now sick. Have to take him to the doc's this morning.
UGH! Poor little guy. and since he's non-verbal he can't tell me exactly how he feels.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.
But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: Yowling Rant
I can sympathize with that, Lady Rainbow! My youngest grandchild just started to talk. Before this, she would cry and you had to be like a CSI tech to figure out what was wrong, starting with checking her body over for cuts and bruises. Then trying to see if she had a sore throat or runny nose. Then offering food and drink. Then offering toys. Sometimes she would point to things or bring you things which are great clues. The talking stage sure makes things easier!

Re: Yowling Rant
My Grandaughter has a rare syndrome (Wolf-Hirschorn_ she will be twelve this year. she cannot Talk, still must be diapered and has the menatal level of a four year old. She is usbject to Seizures, and catches anything that comes down the pike. Drives her mother nuts because the child cannot even give her a hit of what is wrong by signs. Talking would be a very great help. Not to be, ever. If you can look forward to your Grnandchild being able to talk you are foturnate.

Okay, fine, thanks for the lecture, Silverbullet. I take back my rant. That's ALL I need right now is a lecture. Geez, I'm done talking for today.

Re: Yowling Rant
Linda, that was NOT a lecture. I was just saying that my Grandaughter has this problem which makes it hard for her Mother. That one is foruutnate if their Grandchild can talk. How is that a Lecture? Believe that a lecture would be a bit more strident.
I am sorry you took i that way. Certainly was not directed at you or intended to intimidate you in any way. And certainly NOT a lecture.
If you are offendec my apologies.

Re: Yowling Rant
I KNOW that I shouldn't accept upgrades for programs. Byt I still do. As always happens they foul up my computer. I have endless problems. Today, I stupdly accepted two. One to Adobe Acrobat, one to Real player which had an added Google search thingy with it. Damned Computer chrashed. Full Crash. The first time it has ever happened on this Computer. Still waiting for more problems. They will show until I get rid of new upgrades, if I can.
I credit it to early morning and stupidity. Age factor does not enter in to it.
