Well thats kinda dumb. Surely they should quote you for both eyes. I mean, who's just gonna have one eye done?!? Man that'd give you a major headache.

Don't laugh. That's what they proposed for me. One eye to see near and one eye to see far. YUCK! They claimed I'd get used to it. No thank you.

Did the person who proposed one eye for near sight and one for far sight have that done to themselves? What if it didn't work for you? Maybe then you would have to get the other eye done quick and fork over more money? And maybe that was their devious plan, LOL?

Welcome back, Elessar! Wave

I've had glasses since I was 8 years old and they're now so much a part of me that would I get rid of them I feel like I'd leave a bit of my personality behind. At least my vision has stayed the same for at least 20 years now.

That's how my contacts work...one eye for far and one for near. I had no problems with it when I switched a couple of years back. Of course my eyes never tracked together to begin with, so I'm used to seeing two images and ignoring one. (And I DRIVE. Scary, isn't it? Laughing )

Nice way to put it, Bether. I'm so nearsighted, it's ridiculous. An early death would be quite likely without my glasses. I used to wear contacts, but I stopped because I didn't think the dorm bathroom was clean enough to be putting things in my eyes in there.

I didn't know they do insurance on those surgeries. They keep telling me my vision should stop deteriorating soon. First it was 18, then 20 or 21, and now they've bumped it back to 25. But I don't think I'd want surgical implements around my eyes once, never mind multiple times. Do you have to stay awake for that and keep your eyes still? I'd probably blink and make myself blind if I had to do that.

Well I have news!

First of all, there is actually a point to quoting per eye, because some people only have one real bad eye. I know a guy who has one eye at 20/30 and one at 20/200, so that'd be for him. He may not need/want correction for the 20/30 eye.

BUT! my real news is that I tested today at 20/20! w00t. Plus, they will continue to improve because it's only been 1-week since the procedure and they say that I'm in the well-above-average recovery range. My eyes have now fully healed and they will continue to go down in swelling plus there's a little ridge where, in the center of my eye, the layers regrew so quickly they formed a little ridge (like an impact crater!) and that will smooth out and my vision will sharpen even more. So I should see somewhere in the range of 20/10 to 20/20 by the time all is said and done. ABout the time the Con rolls around in 2 weeks, I should be somewhere in the middle of where I will finally heal to.

Very, very well!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
