Ah Ah!
It sounds like you have to eat, above all!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

And are ya gonna find out? Boy or girl? That 4 month ultrasound is pretty good these days at showing off that wee genitalia.

I loved finding out with my first....I felt like I really knew the girl (instead of it being an "it").

Lots of peeps will say "it spoils the surprise"....but what does it matter if the surprise is at 4 months or 9 months? I mean, the day of birth has enough emotion already, don't ya think?

My rebuttal to those who think it "spoils the surprise" is, hey, why not wait till the kid's 4 months old then, before looking? I mean, make the surprise last even longer. Wait till grade 2, why don't ya? Wait till the kid's 30, then take a look.

Anyway. I'm so excited for us! We need to deluge these tuckersibs with every gory dual detail now.

Exactly, there's something to be said for being able to plan ahead too as far as getting the baby stuff all lined up and ready for the new arrival. ;)

course, it can always backfire. one friend got told it was a girl for sure. Pink room, pink clothes. All in readiness.

Boy.

(But, the answer is: just don't overinvest in *pink*. ANY OTHER COLOUR. WHY IS IT ALWAYS SO MUCH WITH THE PINK PEOPLE???)

If it's a boy, it's all blue. If the sex is not declared, everything is pale yellow or pale green or some neutral winnie the pooh/organic duckies kind of thing.

So it pays to find out and then keep it to yourself, except that it's impossible. I've heard of at least two people who were told the wrong sex too.

We decided not to find out, but I called him 'him' for the last three months anyway. I wanted a pronoun, and I figured I'd get used to the idea that it was a boy, and then if it was a girl that would be a happy surprise. By the time Alejandro was born it seemed as if we'd just known forever.

Which reminds me that my husband and stepdaughter had outvoted me in favor of Diego and I craftily waited until I'd gone through labor to demand the name I liked better. :)

Ugh. Dude. If I ever had kids I'd probably be like totally confusing because I'd NEVER do pink. Not for a boy, not for a girl, not for a cat for crying out loud. :? :? Like first of all because I absolutely despise the whole stereotypical generalization of those colors as some kinda "gender specifier" or whatever, and the commercialism that goes with it, and like second of all I'm a girl and I like blue. And green. And red. And yellow. And orange. And shades of stuff that apparently only "girly" girls and gay guys know the names for so I have no clue what to call them. :? I like many colors actually. Well except for brown it's a really boring color. But anyway. Now who's gonna come tell ME I have to like pink above all colors just because I'm a girl. They better be wearing a helmet and a padded suit. I can take pink in small amounts but overdone it makes me wanna puke. :? :upchuck:

Well but then again I'm never gonna have kids. :? :dunno:  So carry on I guess :? :?

I'm with you, I'm with you absolutely. I hate pink.

By the way, congrats TSara (and Enterprikayak.)

I've known a lot of little boys whose favorite color was pink, including mine. It's a real test for you as parents to see if you can be egalitarian and accepting instead of trying to socialize your two-year-old into the conventional sex role.

Whatever you try, though, by middle school the kids have all figured it out. Oh, the horror of being thought in any way girly!

I'd go yellow with a girl, personally, because I really hate pink.

Make it more subversive: boy in white and girl in black! :)

Now, take care of the girl in black because she can end giving poisoned apples to innocent girls (or Windows systems to Apple users, which is maybe worse  )

And overusing eyeliner... and piercing every possible bodily orifice and protuberance... and dying her hair green... and rattling like a bucket of bolts when she walks from all the chains. Sigh. :?
