Re: Randomness
It also depends on how long one has been in prison, or otherwise deprived.

Re: Randomness

Distracted, didn't you say your husband had struggled with obesity?
Though I suppose Mr. Nimoy hoped to generate this sort of dialog when he asked the ladies to take their clothes off.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Re: Randomness

...and yes, fat people have feelings. It is a scientifical fact.

Re: Randomness
Not every culture sees women with a lot of flesh as less beautiful than thin women. So who says those ladies in that photo are less beautiful than Jolene? Hey, it would take longer to starve them to death than Jolene. That just might be a survival factor that makes them more valuable, hence MORE beautiful.
Well, just an opinion from an older woman who is not as trim as she used to be - and whose feelings have NOT diminished with additional pounds.

Re: Randomness
I think humans do it like this:
We want whatever we can't have.
So in, say, an African country where everyone is hungry and scrawny, fat women are considered beautifully healthy and nourished.
In, say, US or Canada or UK everyone's got six Starbucks drivethrus and six McDonald's drivethrus all vying to take their attention away from the Wendy's drivethru and the Burger King drivethru and the liquor store drivethru. Then add 6 lifetimes of potential tv viewing options every night and, finally, a comfy couch for slouching. And everyone seems to have, um, some trouble, y'know...not ballooning. No one's skinny. There's just too many couches for anyone to be skinny, except rare genetic freaks.
So we hold up these magical humans like Jolene and Flavia de Oliveira who somehow *SOMEhow* have managed to resist the evil triumverate combination of drivethrus, tv, and couches.
And we worship them. Welcome to 2008.
It's a strange place to visit.

justTripn wrote:14! USERs! What was so exciting here this morning, I wonder? I mean, I can understand when there is new fanfic up . . . There will be new fanfic up, BTW. I was one of those 14 users. I was trying to get something posted something for Bookworm--then I had to go to work.
(Since we're all geeks) We should plan a "most users online" party. Since some of us live in Europe and are up to 10 hours ahead of us lazy-ass westcoast N. Americans, maybe it should be at, like 7:15 am PST.
Evcake and T'Poptarts and I can drag our lazy western asses up that early (can't we girls?), and CX will be awake already (on his glacier out there in Laura Ingalls coutry plugging in his block heater), and y'know, since Elessar probably gets hazed in the AM's, he'll be up regardless, picking spaghetti out of his combat boots or some such, and it'll be late afternoon for the Suomi and Italia and French folk.
Like, what about Easter Sunday March 23 at 7:30 am PST? Everyone can log on and we can gaze in wonder at the little graphic on the Board Index. And chatter like digital monkeys. God, we are geeks. I love it!

Re: Randomness
Sounds like a plan. Being relatively close to CX in time zone, guess I can drag myself to the machine.

Uh, and how about reminders a day before for us forgetful folk?

I usually don't get up until around 1000, personally.

Re: Randomness
Well the block heater prolly doesn't fully melt the grip of the ice on your car until 10 am anyhow.
(I love making fun of Americans about their cold weather, as in Canada you get tourists asking where the dog sleds are in July...and whether this strangely coloured "money" you have given them in change is in fact legal tender.)

Personally lately I've been griping that our money is looking a little too much like your monopoly money in the last few years.

Seven thirty on Easter morning? Gah. I'll be watching my youngest hunt plastic eggs in the living room while my husband videos her, munching on chocolately bits of rabbit for breakfast. If I go online during this MAJOR FAMILY TOGETHERNESS MOMENT my hubby will have a conniption. But I'll be there in spirit.

Yes, and he still does. And I love him to pieces. But he keeps his clothes on in public. Some people have bodies built for general admiration. Others don't. We're all the same on the inside, but that doesn't mean that everyone looks good naked. (He has other talents, BTW...

Ahem...
You know...
Italians are sleepyhead.
But count on me anyhow.
My spirit, too, will be with all of you!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
