Certainly not every country does, but some do, that's all I meant.
Don't you love it when you run into peeps who love to tell you harsh things 4 your own good.

In Canada this is a HUGE no-no. HUGE. We're all tightass. My friend's mom is from South America and
very traditional. She is always sitting you down and saying horribly uncomfortable things for "your own good".
For HER own good, I'd like to tell her she's being rude.
(But I'm Canadian, so I can't.)

Her daughter usually gets the brunt of it all of course. And sometimes the mom sees me without the daughter (I recently did a PC party at her house). And she likes to grip my arm intimately, and pull me aside and ask me things about the daughter. "Yenny-fer. You tell me. Isobel...is she...is she...the lessbian?" (Say 'lesbian' all soft and emphatic and horrified when you read it aloud.)
The daughter doesn't date much.
