Re: Randomness
Maybe you come from a precog family, CX. Anyway, follow Alelou's advice: don't work in a gas station
As for my dream, well I don't think is so astonishing. I mean, I have very vivid dreams all the time. This last season I've watched three complete movies, I've created two novels (not write, just create), I've made a TV show (of 4 seasons) and I've dreamt about a TnT story (that is too AU even for me.) That's my talent, I suppose. What I lack is perseverance. So I don't think I'm going to write this futurist story in a near future. Besides, I'm writing a novel (which is a shit, but because I have this perseverance problem I want to finish it to prove myself I can do it. Without being forced by a bunch of eager classmates, which happened last time, that's it
)
PS: Mr. Spock hanging by a christmas tree! That's cool

Re: Randomness
But all of us are waiting for something from you!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: Randomness
I certainly hope that my last dream wasn't a precog dream, it would mean the death of someone special to all of us.

Wait, what will happen if the next pope is named Peter?
As for CX, I don't think it's going to be any great sacrifice to not work at a gas station, at least. Somehow, I can't see you being happy with that.

Today I bought plane tickets to (and from) London, and made hotel reservations. I'm going to be there on August 12-19, which also coincides with my parents being there. So I'll get to meet them and we can do some things together.

Re: Randomness
Same here, it's been a while since I was there, even if I do know the place quite well.
And tomorrow I'm driving to another city to help a friend move. I'll probably stay there for most of the rest of this week so I don't know when I'll be online next time. After that I might drive to my parents' place and stay there for a while (until sometime next week). I haven't decided that yet. At any rate I'll probably be absent until then.
Toodles...

Re: Randomness
Last weekend a 19-year-old was shot to death in a robbery at the restaurant right across the street from the movie theater where my 17-year-old son was working at the time. When my son's girlfreind(?) called him about it. he was standing right in front of that very restaurant (Damon's) waiting for the bus. So this weekend I guess I drive him over an back to work each night. So I don't want to hear any jokes about "long live the gun show loopholes" or "your cold dead hands." That 19-year-old had a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

Geez, I am sorry about that, JT! Such a scary situation for you and your son. I have not heard of "long live the gun show loopholes" or "your cold dead hands." Are those the watch phrases of the gun lobby people? I am for gun control, especially after my cousin's son's suicide at age 21 with one of the guns his father kept in the house. It has been ten years now, but the scars are still fresh in our family. Yeah, 19, 21, or any age is too young to die by firearms.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Surely you must know that no one here would joke about something like that. It is a horrible thing for anyone to be the victim of such a crime, most especially a young person with the whole world laid out in front of them. And to have your son be standing there must have made your blood run cold. I know it would have made mine freeze. I suspect it would have made any parent react the same way. I always hated letting my kids go where crimes had occurred in our neighborhood. Sometimes you can't avoid it, there are just too many of the cursed places. But a parent can't help feeling their gut tighten up. I understand your fear, and your anger, and your frustrated pain. I know exactly how you feel. Every parent on this board knows exactly how you feel.
I am glad that your sons are safe, and that your son's girlfriend is safe. It is good that you are able to drive him, I mean it is good that you have the option to do that.

Someone robbed a restaurant? You mean like a Denny's like in Pulp Fiction where they rob all of the patrons? Wild. I didn't think that actually happened anymore (restaurants).
It's shitty, but in my mind just reinforces the truth of the fact that in the conceal & carry debate, there's no place that it doesn't make sense to carry. When I had this debate with my mom she would say something like "Well why would you take a gun somewhere peaceful like a restaurant? Do you expect something to happen?" Well. No. But there you go.

Oh, poor kid. That's horrible. But I'm relieved your son is alright.
And I don't think anybody will do any jokes about it either.
