Really? I've had no problems with mine. It's a little annoying that I have to tell it to run the spell-check, vs. how Word always automatically did it, but other than that, for everything that I use it for, it works just like Word does and I've had no trouble acclimating.

Gimp, on the other hand, cheeses me off to no end and I would kill to have my Photoshop Elements back. Gimp works NOTHING like Photoshop Elements, and I've had NO fun making pictures for months.

Do you by any chance have Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Paint in with your free Windows Photo Gallery? (Maybe that's just Vista?) Because those are A LOT easier to use than Gimp. Gimp reminds me of Photoshop (the full program the real designers use), and I also find it maddening.

I don't know, I'll check it out. All I know is that the Photoshop Elements program I had was dirt simple to use and for the stuff I used it for, it worked just fine.

The two I mentioned are tons easier to use. If you have any software that came bundled with your printer, it might be easier to use too.

I get on fine with OpenOffice. The automatic spell check is a switch on a toolbar on the top. Mine is highlighted here http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u233/dark_rain_2007/snapshot2.png I do run a Linux install tho, so it might be very slightly different for you.

I also found the GIMP hella annoying to start with, but you kinda get used to it over time. If you want tricky to use, LNKV (database tree editor) is a great place to start. I can never remember the shortcuts, and I wrote part of the software. :)

I'm working on my projects at 11pm (or rather, I should be working on that) because I decided to spend my day watching sports rather than working. Yeah, stupid decision, but all my favorites won today, starting with Federer and ending with the CR football team. Not a bad day after all...

Well at first I had Sabyaon and Linux because my girlfriend's husband is a computer programmer. And he said this will take care of viruses and every other problem you have with Vista. I'm like, Great! But it was hell sheer hell! Nothing worked the way I wanted it too and I couldn't figure the DANG thing out! Finally I said GIVE ME BACK MY WINDOWS! So he did, a copy of Windows 7 which I will never ask how he got it. But NO WORKS. I'm like, say what? He says you must pay, for it. Until then OpenOffice, and I hit that little button ALL the time. IT NEVER WORKS! I want Works back! :(
