Nice soothing music too. I needed that. Bad news: my kitty has mouth/jaw cancer. :cry: I'm doing much better than I was yesterday when we found out. I've had her - or to be more precise, she has had me - since I was 9, so I grew up with her, and I'm extremely devoted to her. Now the prognosis is 6 weeks to 6 months. :(

Um, Asso, I'm confused by the last comment. Do you think Vulcans would ally themselves with us just because we have a pretty planet? That doesn't seem very logical.

Sorry about your cat, JK. I hope it's some comfort to be home to say goodbye?

Our remaining cat is getting kitty Alzheimer's, I think. He erupts into indignant yowling at the back of his chair every once in awhile for no apparent reason. (This is in addition to the indignant yowling for various reasons, like: I'm bored and you're all asleep.) He also prowls around looking for things to lick. Photographs are a favorite.

Yes, I'm glad to be home with her. I was thinking about commuting next semester (it's 2 1/4 hours one way so I'll stay in a hotel one night a week - classes are only Wed. and Thurs.) and living at home. Now I'm definitely doing that to be here with her and take care of her.

Photographs - somehow I can't picture this being particularly healthy for the cat. Although, it's quiet...

It's not healthy for the photographs, that's for sure. I've heard that plastic bags apparently have estrogenic qualities that male cats enjoy, or something like that. (Same concerns exist for us drinking liquids out of microwaved plastic.) At his advanced age and his current state of neuterdom, I'm not too worried about it.

That's quite a commute for school. I guess you're not into the social life on campus, huh? I tried commuting just the 25 minutes or so to UMass the year I came back from England, but I couldn't stand it and ended up finding a roomate and an apartment a few weeks into the first semester. Spending senior year at home in my parents' house was just too damned depressing and anticlimactic.

Sorry, Jadziakathyrn. Yes, our 18 year old kitty passed two years ago after a suffering kitty Altheimers. All summer long, we kept saying goodbye to him every night thinking that would be it, and he'd revive and be up and around the next morning. He would FORGET TO DRINK WATER. So he would be passed out and we'd put a water dish under his nose and he'd revive and keep on keeping on.
I'm donating my body to science fiction.
