Exactly (I think this isn't a novelty for a Dutch, is it? ) Their usual partners in the parliament didn't get enough seats, so they can't get an absolute majority. But of course, the opposition could decide to not forming a coalition in the last moment and he could be president. Again. His party has been in power for 30 years now, I think it's enough.

Yip, I know everything about forming coalitions, mostly we have three parties in one cabinet. Mostly the christian-democrats with another party. This time with Labour and the leftwing on social issues but conservative on moral issues-christian party. Before the election Labour and christian-democrats weren't the best of friends, but sometimes you have to make a deal. Did I tell you we have like 10 national parties? I can form my own in a second if I want to. Ahh, the joys of democracy.
Hopefully the party of fake-Spock doesn't get another round of governing, a fresh wind can be very good and his party doesn't sound very appealing.

That's really more democratic than the US two-party system. On the other hand, you can end up with a perpetually hamstrung government that can accomplish next to nothing, so it's a double-edged sword.

We have a default two-party system, but technically there's nothing to stop additional parties from forming.

I once worked for a maniac big boss at a computer publishing company who got himself on the NH ballot for Vice President of the United States. And what was the point of that? I mean, why not go for President if you have that much hubris and the money to throw around? He was so weird.

There's this lady here who was dubbed "Stoner Lady" she's a total whack job. But anyway. Like she stayed here a while ago (I had to share a room with her for a really long time, yucks but after that she was in a different room thank Surak) then she left, then she came back a few weeks ago and fortunately she's in a different room again. So like when she stayed here before like MONTHS ago she broke her arm. And like a couple days ago I saw her again and the same arm was broken. And I was like "what happened to your arm" and she goes like "it's broken" and I'm like "again??" and she goes like "it never healed" and then she says she's gonna need a surgery etc blah blah blah. And all I can think is like DUH YOU CHAIN SMOKING ALCOHOLIC, I'm surprised you even have any bones left

(At least you learn a lot from your beta, when you're writing a story. Like did you know the word fish doesn't have a plural in English? Well, I didn't. I thought the word fishes sounded really good. In one of my chapters of my story The Captives I used a word that in my book sounded neutral, but it wasn't. May my beta life long and correct me.)

Mmmm... no, not exactly. PNV has always been THE Basque Nationalist Party (in fact, that's what its abbreviation means ) ETA, we could say, are their disobedient children, young rebels that split from the "mother party" in the last years of the dictatorship (as this video -from min. 7:27 on- and this video explain ) But PNV doesn't support nor have any member who is part of ETA, they are a little "soft" I suppose, like a parent with his/her child.
