Hey I still sleep with my mama when I'm sick too. Although I'm not sure that it's because I want to or she wants to out of habit. That's what amazing mothers do. Anyway I hope it's nothing too serious and the family gets well soon.

Thanks, guys.

I could, but why? We're all basically healthy. Why spend 100 dollars on something that just shortens the duration of illness by one day in otherwise healthy people? I'll let the flu victims with risk factors for complications have mine. Maybe it'll save a life.

100$ YIKES! Stuff like that makes me mad. Oh I went to my future sister-in-law's bridal shower today. It was fun but guys were there, and frankly I'm one of those people that find men get more obnoxious and annoying at such events. Not my brother he was a good boy, even if he did eat EVERYTHING in sight. But a family friend who is really a boy at 21 called me hippy! Not the good hippy, but your hips are big hippy. HELLO! I'm 110 lbds. :bitch: :explode: I was not happy. I told him my brothers can say stuff like that YOU CAN'T!

Some men like hips. It's supposed to make childbirth easier if you have generous hips, too. And women's clothes fit better when you curve below the waist. Until I had kids I had to get all my pants altered. No butt. No hips. It got better after three kids, though. Now I can buy clothes in women's sizes instead of juniors most of the time. Much more choices that way... except for jeans. Women's jeans still don't fit right and I keep feeling like I have to pull up my pants to avoid mooning people the way the junior jeans are cut these days.

Really my problem is no waist at all and a rather generous rear-end, and pants are a challenge. Hey I never said the kid was wrong about my hips, I know they're curvy considering how tall and thin I am. But that doesn't mean he gets to say anything about them. Personally I think I'm way out of proportion, big hips and chest and the rest of me can fit through a needle's eye. I'm told I'm lucky, but frankly it just makes the wrong guys stare, and clothes hard to find.

Distracted wrote:Why no vaccine? It's made out of a piece of the protein coat around the virus. There's no active virus in it so it can't give you flu. Flu virus puts you out of commission for a week, best case scenario. So you miss a week of your life stuck in your house under isolation. Worst case scenario is you get complications and you die. Why would you not take the vaccine?
I don't want to take anything that hasn't been out for a decade or so - long enough to uncover any unforeseen side effects.

I admit to being a worrier, but sometimes it's a good thing. Like that Gardisil that was being pushed, I wouldn't get that, and there have been some concerns.

Gardasil is going to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer by 75% in the next 20 years. That's a big deal. It makes a very small percentage of teenage girls faint when they get it and some of them have been injured. Not such a big deal. Of course, if you only have genital skin-to-skin contact with one other person for the rest of your life and THAT person only has skin-to-skin contact with you for the rest of their life then you're not at risk for new HPV infections and you don't need the vaccine. 8)

^ And that's the route I intend to go. 8)

Whine: I've got an unpleasant, moderately bad cold for the first day of classes. And my bed is stuck up so high I have to clamber up the side to get on it. (But by golly, I have my single! :D )

Agreed, no Gardasil for me either. Right now I'm in the computer room is my Grammy's apartment building finally able to have a thought to myself. Honestly I'm this close to going nuts. I hope I can get home and be able to talk to you all soon. And I miss my cat.

What you need is a surgical mask and some hand sanitizer.

 If you hang around here long enough you'll learn to speak T'Poptarts. She calls the hostel where she lives "the zoo", which makes anyone who lives in her room a "cagemate". My favorites are her "curse words". They're a mixture of Battlestar Galactica and Farscape invented words. She never actually uses foul language, but everyone knows what she means. And when she gets mad, frak, does the dren hit the fan!

We love you, T'Poptarts. Without you these boards wouldn't be nearly as much fun. :D

Absolutely true. :D
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
