How do you protest a college? People are weird. Anyway definitely get a roller case Alelou, I used a carry-on luggage case, it was perfect. Oh Jimmy Carter is speaking at James Madison University. My mom works there, and she likes to tease the Secret Service. That woman can make anyone laugh, I wish I had her skills.

Woke up with a raging migraine this morning. I took my Imitrex, but side effects give me body aches so I'm all stiff and sore for several hours.

On top of that, I was 15 minutes late for class because of a bus fire in M 14. To give you an idea of how long I sat in traffic, it's just under an hour commute under ideal circumstances, and I give myself an extra 30-45 minutes to get there in case of bad tie-ups. Even with all THAT I wasn't on time.

I quit my second job today in order to focus on classes. That isn't really much of anything to whine about, except for the fact that I liked the owner, he was nice, and I feel bad for quitting so soon.

I wish I wasn't allergic to Imitrex. Maybe I could get rid of these migranes if I wasn't.

I'm assuming that HVCC is "Hudson Valley Community College".

Yep! It is also, however, the Home Valuation Code of Conduct. 8) The things we learn from Google!

Maybe try the Imitrex with an ibuprofen next time? It's the same thing as Treximet, as I think Dis explained awhile ago. I haven't noticed any aches when I take it. For me there's this mild glimmer of headache that feels like it's off in the periphery somewhere, and still some light sensitivity, but NOTHING like a full-blown migraine.

Sorry it doesn't work for you, WG. (You're definitely allergic, not just having aches like Aquarius?) I've heard a lot recently about surgery for chronic migraine sufferers. Probably not something you want to hear... definitely not something I'd do unless I was desperate.

I'll be looking around for a rolling backpack... Since I lift weights, when I lose strength in my upper body I can actually measure it. Maybe it's just temporary after the back troubles, though. And I'm not in pain, so I can't really complain.

Positive. They even put it in that section of the medical file that has the red tabs and warning lables. Then again my section is like 5 pages long. A lot of stuff is in there. :-p

It isn't just the body aches. I mean, I'm more than a little sore sometimes. Think of the worst case of the flu you've had where you could barely drag yourself out of bed because you hurt, and then add in the feeling of your first workout after not having done it in ten years or so.

For about the first two hours I can't eat or drink anything because everything tastes so intense, my tongue hurts. The pills often give me heartburn, and they screw with my body temperature--sometimes I feel like I'm over-heating, other times I freeze.

Even with all of that, though, it's still preferable to the pain in my head and the upset in my stomach I'd get if I didn't take them.

I'm actually looking into botox. I don't have wrinkles, but I've read that studies have shown that women have been reporting a reduction in the amount of migraines they get, and a decrease in severity when they do get one. I get anywhere from 4 to 10 migraines a month so I'm thinking it might be worth it.

Nope. No insurance. Can't even really afford the Imitrex; I've been taking Treximet, supplied by a friend of mine who scores samples from the doctor's office she works in. Same side effects, though, just maybe slightly milder because of the naproxen sodium ingredient.

Most of these are tied to my cycle. I always get one the Sunday before I start, about 50% of the time I get one the day I start, and always one the Friday after I start...and then I sometimes have trouble following week, too, as in I have to be really careful a about things like what I eat or drink, how much of it, and what time of day (ie I tend to get a migraine the next day if I eat sweets or other carbs past 8pm and have a "food coma" passing out in front of the TV). Then two weeks out of the month I can do whatever I want.

Since being diagnosed with migraines, most doctors I've seen have told me that since most have some kind of obvious hormonal link, I have a reason to look forward to menopause, as these will probably stop then.

My migranes started after the hysterectomy. Mine start in the back of my neck. And start up to a spot low in the back of my head that swells up putting intense pressure. I can't even describe how bad the pain gets. Usually I'll blackout, and wake up paralysed for ten minutes.

Okay, I can relate to Aquarius because at least the hormones are usually what trigger me too, though thankfully much less often. I'm glad the Trex works better for me than it does for you. I could see why you'd consider tryng Botox.

I can't relate to yours, WG. Literally, SWELLING? Are they even sure these are really migraines? They sound like seriously life-threatening brain events...

I still can't believe the president is speaking at the college my husband and I went to. :o It seems kind of a shame to me, though, that students aren't allowed to go. (Or so I was told, anyhow.) Honestly, though, if that's true, what's the point of even talking then? Are you going Alelou?

According to numerous neurological tests no brain tumors, hemorrages, lesions, or other nasties. I was diagnosed with migranes. Who am I to say that spinal taps, and scans, EEG's, or EMG's are wrong?

So, according to the doctors, you just have the "Mother of All Migraines"? Oh, great
