My random news: I'm think I'm experiencing hot flashes. I told my husband and he instantly congratulated me on "living a long time without dying" and added cheerfully that I've "defeated evolution" (living past my childbearing years). That last is a poke at me and my scientific view of the world.

Well the people of Bones are having a flu scare and they don't know what kind. The bad news is the leading man is infected so they've shut down production. Here's hoping everyone feels better soon. And hopefully I'll still get a full season.

Our campus newspaper has a thumbs-up/thumbs down box. The latest issue which, (shameless self-promotion warning) has an op-ed written by me on the unacceptability of new dining restrictions, lists Star Trek in the thumbs-up section.

I was sitting here contemplating my anniversary. One year ago I submitted the first thing I had ever written to Triaxian Silk. I vividly remember thinking it would be a one time thing. Well, one year and nineteen stories later, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you. I have watched the way you guys embrace and encourage all the novice writers that come here. To my knowledge that kind of thing doesn't happen very often. This is a special place and you should be proud of the atmosphere you all create for new writers.
A special little thank you to Aquarius, your word prompts inspire me and many others every month. I hope you don't think I'm being silly but my personal one year anniversary inspired me to say Thanks Everybody!
