We're driving to Dallas this weekend. It's 22 degrees in Dallas! That's Dallas, TEXAS! I packed my long underwear. 8)

BE CAREFUL! The wind chill is BAD! Lots of hot beverages and warm clothes. Have fun, my best friend is in Houston.

So it's a bad winter in Sweden, too? It's been miserable here. Snow, snow, snow, ice, ice, ice and tonight it's a 20 below windchill!

I take it that the entire northern hemisphere is suffering from this cold spell. It's like the fimbul winter has arrived. Brrrr...

I changend my mind. I hate winter.

I hate it more and more each year. My husband is sick so I had to dig out the driveway this morning. Our snow blower is broken.

My husband had a late engagement, so I had to come home from the food pantry and figure out how to use the new snow blower, which wasn't too bad except that I also had to learn how to unjam it since it couldn't handle the sand at the end of the driveway and then an hour later when I'm all done (maybe really 45 minutes or maybe not -- big driveway, compulsive driver, sand) I couldn't figure out how to turn the damned thing off. Finally I found a button, after nearly drowning it with the choke a couple of times.

Any rate, I'm just thankful that was today, without tomorrow's wind chills. I'm sure it's brutal where you are.

But after dinner I was so desperate for something sweet and cold that I poured year-old frozen blueberries in the blender with milk and sugar. Not bad, actually.

I find the best bet in less than ideal snow conditions is a well-inflated snow tube. Once you have a track laid down, they'll pick up nice speed even in wet, sticky snow. Sleds, not so much.

No, WG, we're not big ice cream eaters, though I would have gladly had some tonight if it didn't mean going back out in the cold.

Hmm. I was eating ice cream before any other solid food. My family practically lives on the stuff at times. It's great for tummy aches.

I usually just find it too sweet. I do love the occasional root beer float with vanilla ice cream, though. Also vanilla ice cream on warm molasses blueberry cake with a drizzle of maple syrup on top. Yum.

I have been drinking my tea and coffee without sugar since the new year, trying to cut back on some of my habitual calories, but I'm beginning to wonder if my body just doesn't find some other way of getting its fix.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

It worked just enough to make you kind of want to keep trying to make it work, but not enough that we could call it anything like a "success".

So we're waiting for snow and waiting for snow, just to get one or two sleds in, and nada.

we have this little hatchet for chopping wood that's only about 14" long, and not super sharp. But our wood is mostly seasoned enough you can chop it despite the crappy hatchet. Anything tough or with any knots is out though. So Priso got this giant mallet with a 3 foot handle. (Well, to *me* it is giant, but actually, it has this crazy writing on the side of the head that says "8 lbs". But that can't be right, cause it's redonkulously heavy to me, and that would make me a total feeb.)

Anyway, now it's fun. You chop with the wee axe just so it bites into the wood. Then with the "giant mallet", you hit the dull axe about 30 times, and it breaks the wood up! Bwahahaha! No wood can defy me now!

Priso stands and watches through the glass livingroom door, shouting advice and repeatedly trying to come out to "help" me.

He can't help it.

Today, I promised myself I would finish my syllabi so I could have the rest of the week off.

Doing syllabi calendars is a royal pain in the you to what.
