I really enjoyed the first Hairspray movie. Haven't seen the newer one. But I do think John Waters looks exactly like the kind of guy you would expect to be the director of a porn movie. Someday he should be played by Steve Buscemi...

Here's the footage of the first time he brought his toys on Letterman. The whole interview is delightful:

It's really worth watching. A doll electric chair.

And I must say, I never was able to sit through Pink Flamingos or Polyester - but I love Waters as a personality.

Ha ha! Funny economics paper title I just came across: "Altered State," about the effects of marijuana legalization in California. (Sorry, but that's about as funny as it gets in this job.)

Vote for the next shuttle wakeup song.

The original Star Trek theme is in the top.

What is it about Shrimp rolls, spring rolls, and fried dumplings that are so addictive when one is going through stress. Is it the Chinese food that is a magic cure for stress? Or is it the fact that, you usually don't have to cook or do dishes? But it's terrible when you want it but can't afford it.

It's that wonderful crunchy oily stuff with just enough vegetable or meat inside that you can still tell yourself they're nutritious.

Of course, if you're underweight, they probably are nutritious.

Maybe if you learn to make them yourself they'll be cheaper? There are recipes galore online. I believe all three of those things are easy to make batches of and then freeze. (One of these days I'm going to do that with scallion pancakes, because the local Chinese restaurants -- which all seem to have exactly the same menu -- just don't list them.)

Landed one job interview this morning.. Salon is a little farther than I was looking to travel, but the owner says there is like *no* competition in the area and she's busy, so with the promise of being able to make some real bank, it might be worth it.

Got some go-sees to do today before work as well, and another interview at a place that's closer on Saturday.

OK this should probably be a whine, but cooking requires energy, and right now I got NONE! Healthwise things aren't so great. Bummer because I was on a huge health HIGH. But insomnia has come to try a crunch me down again. It's working. Thanks for the site though. I think I'm gonna finagle some cash from the relatives if I can manage. I need some comfort. But the good news is I'm not so drastically underweight anymore. I'm still thinner than most people my hight but it works because the less weight I carry the easier for walking. But I'm finally healthy in that respect.

Aquarius I hope all goes well.

Usually I find "relationship articals" in magazines to be silly, and impractical. However... I think I found one that is not only reasonable but actually do-able. Wonders of wonders...http://glo.msn.com/#stackState=5__%2Fre ... 96.gallery

My favorite... Marriage is no a 50/50 proposition, it's a 100/100 proposition.

Great article. I agree with the fight one. You *gotta* fight to have a relationship. And then also not feel like "if you fight" it means you are automatically a disaster marriage. Healthy relationships need some good healthy fighting. (Obviously, I'm not talking about anything demeaning or abusive, just healthy noisy communication).

I remember a friend of mine and her boyfriend, and one time he said something in jest, and then (also in jest) she laughed, "Oh shut up!" and then they both froze and she stared and he stared and she was all, "Oh my god. Sweetie, I'm so sorry." And he was all hurt and like, "It's okay. It's okay. You didn't mean it." I was staring in confusion as these two turned one "shut up" into a guilt trip to rival anything.

Priso and I don't take stuff like that seriously at all. Just tonight, looking for a car key, he tracked dirt from his barn boots all over the livingroom carpet I had just vacuumed. And I'm like, "Get OUT of here you big douche!" and he's all "I'll see *you* next Tuesday" as he darts back outside. Neither of us meant these things and they were said in jest. And I got to call him a big douche and feel better about vacuuming twice.

Healthy times. And we've been married for 11.5 years! Course, you gotta make sure the kids aren't watching when u jest in this manner. Specially with the "C.U. Next Tuesday" :guffaw: (A favourite with the Canadian military, apparently)
