You ever wear a poncho? One of the ones the Army issues? T'Sara can back me up here: they're hot as hell, uncomfortable, and really loud (pure plastic and all). Honestly, I don't think we ever wore the stupid things while in the field unless we were basically "in the rear, with the gear" 'cause of how loud they were. Plus, it kind of defeated the purpose of him wearing it like that since his BDUs would get soaked with rain ('cause he's wearing his poncho funny). Ah Hollywood...

Another really crappy military movie is Firebirds. Tommy Lee Jones and Nicholas Cage (whom I generally can't stand anyway). Such a pity that the wondrous helicopter that is the AH-64 got stuck in this turkey...

Frik yeah.....I hated that Damn poncho.

I only had to wear the damn thing in basic....thank the gods.

The times I did have to wear it?

I felt like a noisy Ewok....who was souped up like Rambo.

Yes, I actually have fond memories of it keeping me warm and dry during FTX. I actually wouldn't mind getting one now, but they're always too expensive.

I've never really seen the point of that movie.

Uh ... what? Ponchos don't keep you warm. Are you talking about the Gore-tex gear? 'cause I'm talking about the nylon ponchos that don't keep you warm or dry...

I guess mine kept me dry. Warm came from those MRE heaters, even if they did stink, because the poncho kept the heat in.

Heh I'm gonna watch it again. I'm not a military person so I don't care and I actually enjoyed its sci-fi aspect and watching everything go boom.

Sorry Rigil

It can have kind of a hair trigger sometimes, especially if you're going fast.
As for the f-word, it will accept a couple of archaic synonyms... :D
It accepts a lot of olde wordes, come to think of it.
