I have a friend who works for Harmony Gold, a company that distributes and re-dubs Japanese animation programs (among other things) and he gave us a tour around the office and gave us some really cool collectibles including a couple of animation cells from Robotech. On our final evening we went to a lovely restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset (*sigh*) and Steven Speilberg was there having a dinner meeting with about 8 other guys. I recognised him right away. My husband was totally star-struck and freaked out, which was hilarious because he doesn't get they way! I have to admit, I was too, because after al it was  STEVEN SPEILBERG  and we are huge fans of his work. On the way out I briefly stopped at his table and thanked him for all his work. He smiled back at us, probably wondering who the heck these weirdos were. Just HAD to say something!

OMG!!!! OMG!!! Randomness? Shouldn't "I met Steven Speilberg" be the tile of a thread. Congratulations! :faint:

Years ago, 1966, I was sitting in tne Maze Coffee Shop, London, about 4;30 a.m. it was empty. Dealers, show people, etc had gone and the morning people had ot come in yet. I had three Newspapers in front of me. In walks Jack Palance. So it is only me and Palance in there. He comes up to my table "Can I read one of yur papers?" "Sure, go ahead" You know what. He finishes his coffee and walks out with my Newspaper. So, Palance owes me a Newspaper.

Whelp, probably just wasted $135 and the majority of the day without actually accomplishing anything. Of course I won't actually know for sure until they get back to me in 12 weeks. :censored:

Was it the GRE, CX? I took that once in French, which was my undergraduate major. Thought I was ready for it, but most of it was French history and culture rather than French language and literature, which was what I had prepared for. My score sucked. Fortunately, I did much better on the MCAT.

You might have done better than you thought. A lot of these exams are structured to be so impossibly hard that less than the top 1% of graduates are capable of making a perfect score. Some of them even grade on a curve. You really won't know how you did until you compare your score with the other people who took the test.

Bummer, CX. I was reading this fast and saw "I feel awesome." But then the head-butting. :( As you said it the score isn't going to hurt you in any case. You had to give it a shot and you did. Keep on :patpat:

It's the "Fundamentals of Engineering" Exam, so no, it doesn't really do anything academically for me, it's just something to stick on my resume basically. Some firms like having people with the extra qualification, but it's not really needed, especially at larger companies.

Ha, ha. Look what I just found. A "Trek Fish":

"It's not about Creationism. It's not about Darwinism. It's about the future! The TREK FISH simply says we can continue to discuss our origins, but as a species, should focus on what is to come. Show your support for humanity, put a TREK FISH on your car!"

If I weren't officially out of money I would get this.

Hey! You are *not* allowed to be officially out of money till August. How else are you going to pay for all your parkas and sled dogs?

After a quick browse through the uniforms and tricorders and whatnot on that site I was left wondering - has anyone made a mobile phone to look like a TOS communicator yet?

I've got the TOS communicator sound as my ring tone on my iPhone. The funny thing is, no one at the office recognizes it. The first time one of the nurses heard it they said, "Cute. That sounds like a bird." I didn't choose to enlighten them.

Don't have an iPenis, so I can't relate to that. I have an ancient Samsung that *gasp* is just a phone. I use it to call other people, for everything else beyond that, I use my laptop. Have the ENT melody as a ringtone sound though :)
