Japanese Sumo has been mainly dominated by Gaijin lately. It all started with Konishki, Musashimaru and Akebono - Samoan wrestlers, before there was an influx of Mongolians - Kyokutenhō, Kyokushūzan, Asashōryū. Lately, Europeans - Russians, Bulgarians and Baltics have left their marks, too. But I think Takanohana was the best ever in the last 2 decades.
