WOW! where the hell did you get the opportunity to see that? I'm amazed they could even do TOS in HD.

I'm doing last minute russian cramming. It has a seriously deleterious effect on academic discipline to score over 100% on an exam... much less 4.

I got an e-mail from Startrek.com about the movie being shown in my area and bought and reserved tickets online with some other family members they didn't really annnounce Startrek Menagerie in the local media tv, newspaper or the radio ads. But everyone who came to see the movie had a wonderful time.

I watched last Friday's SGA episode "Missing" and I gotta say I'm kinda disappointed... I think I'd like it better if
SPOILER!!!:
the father of Teyla's baby was like one of the Atlantis crew or something instead of dumping some "Kanan" out of nowhere. (Dude. That name almost sounds like "canine" ) I mean like I don't even ship Teyla with anyone or whatever but it's just that all they show us is Teyla interacting with the Atlantis crew and the relationships she forms with them, like when was the last time they actually showed her interacting with "her people", 2 seasons ago?? :? :? :? And like she's *supposed to* be a prominent character in the show, and the father is has supposedly been very prominent in her life like they've known each other since childhood, where the frell is he then. :? So like okay there was that tiny bit in "Sunday" about her liking someone (unknown) like IF that was even supposed to mean anything, I mean like Rachel Luttrell wasn't pregnant then they only wrote it this season because she got pregnant so I'm sure the bit in "Sunday" had nothing to do with it. But even if it somehow did like in retrospect or whatever I still think it's disappointing :(

Like I think that's even worse than SG1's "Pete" :? :? :? :? and I have yet to meet anyone who actually liked Pete. :? :?

But they could at least write it as character development instead of... Canine :? I thought the way they did it was just rushed and forced not like believable or anything :(

It would of been to easy if John was the father.

...watching?

Eureka season one. I just saw episode six entitled Dr. Nobel. As I Swede I must point out some errors. The Nobel prize ceremony does not take place at the Royal Palace, but at the Royal Concert Hall. And they did a pretty poor job (granted they were under time constraints) of re-creating the ceremony for the benefit of the old scientist. It didn't look anything like the real thing. And the laureates do not give a thank you speech.

Sorry, had to get that off my Swedish chest! :P

But it's a neat show. And it has some really hot women too...
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Then it can be Zelenka for all I care. Like I said I don't even ship her with anyone I just think one of the Atlantis crew would be like way more credible than some random Canine out of nowhere. :? :? :?

yeah, here's why I think it's lame that she wasn't impregnated by anyone on the Atlantis expedition... because it's obvious that the writers are just avoiding anyone on the Atlantis expedition since there are like 7 opinions on who she should be shipped with.

Has anyone noticed this recently? As the internet fandom becomes more and more in-touch with the writers and the developers, I think the developers have become more and more influenced by the fanbase - but in an inverse way. Like, simply because 25% of the fans think Teyla should be with John and 25% of them think she should be with Ronon and 50% think she shouldn' tbe with anybody - they put her with someone nobody even knew about, for the explicit and isolated purpose of avoiding "taking sides". This is creative f'ing writing, you do what you want because it's what you want, and they are so obviously taking the least-considered course of action.

It's like an fandom-version of the observer effect. At least Enterprise didn't succumb to this and have T'Pol marry some Vulcan guy (permanently I mean) in order to simply avoid having to answer the "Trip or Archer" question. That's what they're doing here. I mean why WOULDN'T she go with someone from atlantis? Guarantee that's who she spends 90% of her time with.

Anyway, I really came by this thread to say that I just did 14 pullups and I'm an amazing badass. 8)

I have not been on line for a few days. Jury duty. I got picked for a felony trial - drug dealing case. I am exhausted after three days of trying to pay very close attention because we were not allowed to take notes. Then we had a difficult deliberation that ended in a hung jury - hung with at least three separate subgroups among the jurors.

And the judge seemed very unhappy with us when he dismissed us. Well, duh, I wanted to say, you restricted us to the evidence presented (which was not enough) and you made us diliberate within a very restricted set of instructions. You didn't weed out one juror who was off the wall in his opinions - totally illogical and emotional for the wrong reasons. And everytime we sent you a written question from the jury room to clarify something, you, the judge, just told us to follow the instructions and use our memories of the courtroom presentation. I felt the judge and prosecutor and defense lawyer set us up for failure to bring in a verdict. Just MHO.

Well, I feel I did my civic duty to the best of my ability, as did my fellow jurors except maybe the borderline incompetent one - and even he tried very hard. No matter what the judge may feel! So now I am trying to relax over the weekend - mostly sitting because I get dizzy every time I stand up and my digestive system is out of sorts. No, it is not the flu I am sure, but physical reaction from the trial. I am sure I will be ok by Monday when I return to work. Hey maybe this trial experience will work its way into one of my fan fics! I still need to sort our the experience and what it means to me, LOL.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

yeah that really does sound like a unique experience - usually when someone gets selected for jury duty it's for something boring! But it's too bad that the system pretty much blew :?

I just watched "Fortunate Son" on YouTube, and I thought Anthony Montgomery did a good job. It seems to me like that would've been an easy script to overact, but he kept it all very realistic. It just made me wish they'd utilized his talents more!
