The bad cholesterol connection with eggs has been more or less disproven. They're also a good source of omega-3s and such.

Homer: I saved your life! That egg sandwich could have killed you by cholesterol

Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human blood stream.

Homer: So one of those Egg Council creeps got to you too, huh?

Lenny: Aw, you've got it all wrong, Homer. It's not like that. (Lenny is shooing away a man in an egg costume who creeps, then runs away]

Homer: You'd better run, egg!

:guffaw:

My mom had a conversation about eggs with her doctor a few years back. He thought it was a shame about the bad rep eggs were getting because it was scaring his lower income patients away from a good inexpensive source of protein.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

My son, C. who is P.'s identical twin, is playing soccer again for the recreational indoor season. he dropped out of soccer after middle school and is now a senior. Paris was the star of his soccer team. Miraculously, C. is still just as good! He scored 4 goals last night. It was a high scoring game (12 to 8 or something), but still! He is indistinguishable from C. on the field. He has such composure in front of the net and he really goes hard. I'm happy that he's back out there for one last time. :) He says he wants to play recreationally in college. :)

That's neat!

P isn't annoyed that the prodigal brother is back in such good form after skipping all those seasons?

THat would have really pissed me off as a sibling.

YEAH! Almost released, from that strange chair . . .

My little P-Magic is NOT jealous of little C-Money (their rap names, lol). P. was saying, both to me and his brother, "C. should have played for Schenley! We would have won every championship!" (Every year the city championship is been close and all but one year it went into overtime.) It's weird how non-jealous they are of each other. Poor little C. would go to each championship game to cheer on his brother and cause parents, including ME a few times, to panic and demand, "Why aren't you dressed for the game!" (Because he's an identical twin and seeing C. in the stands makes people think it's P. and he must be injured for the game.) C. takes all this in stride. LOL . . .

As for fallout from the metal detector incident, well the team got to the championship and got to lose by one point as usual. Which was way better than anyone could have hoped for the season. P. got a very bad grade in one class, due to all the missed weeks, but he has now been accepted into all the colleges he applied for, so in a sense, the slate has been wiped clean.

At his soccer banquet, everyone gets a silly "paper plate award" (something scribbled on a paper plate). He won for "The player most likely to stab someone with a knife." See? You can look back on it and laugh.

As for people "apologizing," it was more like everyone felt compelled to play their role very reluctantly, so there was really nothing to apologize for. It was "the system." The assistant principal at the hearing told P. that some of his teammates were wearing "Free Paris" t-shirts and she told them, "Oh, please, don't. I feel bad enough already." And she did, I know.

LOL -- what a great paper plate award.

Happy, nonjealous siblings. You have clearly done well.

Those weird little chairs are great! The only problem is that they really can tip over pretty easily. You can't leave baby unattended for a moment, unless maybe it's one of the new ones with the safety mechanisms added.

The BUMBO chair! :) It's actually pretty steady, but it's brand new, so maybe it's a better design than before. Abby likes it. She grips the armrests and stares out with her little wispy CEO hairdo. My sister says she always looks as if she's about to demand a drilldown on last quarter's sales figures. :guffaw:

Good to hear the school was abashed at its own stupid rules. Awesome paper plate award.

I guess when it's your clone there's really no point in being jealous...I mean, y'got the same DNA, right? ;) (Someone oughta 'splain that to my Dad....he is so jealous of his twin it'd be hilarious...if it wasn't so sad.)

The school can't deprive the world from the boy's football ('cause it is called football by the rest of the world, ya know?) forever.

The rest of the world only calls it that cause they don't have REAL football with touchdowns and fat guys falling on one another like us North Americans.

It's pronounced "soccer". SOCCER.

FOOTBALL. 'Cause you play it with your feet. FOOT = FEET. Football! And we have fat guys too, ya know? Check out Ronaldo! Or some of the guys who play it down here in CR. Now, those are some fat guys...

But in REAL football () they're all fat. Except the one or two who have to be really fast.

I dunno. When I watch soccer on tv, it just looks kind of like a high school game to me...cause that's the only soccer I ever have seen live.

(btw, i *do* realise these sentiments are scandalous and that i'm in the planetary minority here, don't worry )
