Wow. I don't know what to say other than: I'm friggin exhausted! But keep them coming!

During the month of January 2009, we received somewhere in the neighborhood of 29 or 30 story submissions, absolutely blowing our normal average of about 10-14 out of the water.

All I can say is keep it coming! I'm here for the foreseeable future and thanks to your prolific, unique and unmatched writing talent, TriS is here to stay, as well 8)

We are quickly approaching the 500 story chapter mark. (We know by the number we must attach to the stories' comments boxes) :D That is there will be 500 original stories at Triaxian Silk, on top of the links to stories at HoT. We probably have enouph stories in the pipeline (that I know are being written) to hit 500 within a month. ;)

Who will be the lucky winner?

500 stories? Wow. Do you want me to check for broken links in the Archive section like I did about a year ago? Oh, and a suggestion. For multi part stories that are finished, why not just put the first chapter link in the index in the Archive section, but on that link state the number of chapters. Example: Trip's Birthday Surprise, chapt 1 - 15, complete. Do that instead of listing all fifteen chapters separately. But within the story, one chapter should link to the next. 8)

I totally agree with this.

Speaking of HoT stories, last night I re-read The Forgotten Time and its sequel Ashaya.

I started that story over 4 years ago!! (And it took me 2 years+months to write!!!)

Haven't even looked at it in a couple of years, and I'm still quite pleased with it. *pats self on back* First long thing I ever wrote....you can tell....it's a lot better at the end than it is at the beginning.

But it was so fun to read all the comments again...Dis and BnB with their awesome supportive remarks and even crusty old Rigil and JediKatie with friendly things to say.....ahhhh it brought me back to the glory days of posting stories. So fun. Maybe I ought to get back into it. :P

Hmmm . . . . we would all have alot fewer stories. But they would be easier to see. No, I disagree. Because if you get to chapter 11 of a 15 chapters story you want to just straight back to chapter 11 and not go clicking though the first 10 chapters.

Well, I guess that makes some sense, but not with the decon stories that are in there with the disclaimer page first anyway, which also has a list of chapters.

I added Cry Havoc awhile back because I noticed it hadn't been archived yet, but I had no idea when the different chapters went up and no desire to go trawling for the info. So that one is already being done the way Linda suggests. I just update the number of chapters. (If anyone wants to go in and reconstruct it ito individual chapters, they are welcome to. Personally I find updating the archive page really tedious.)

I see JT's point, that if you are in the middle of a story, you want to quickly get back to the point where you left off. I was just thinking that it would save space listing the story just once instead of all the chapters. Is it easier to maintain the site by listing all the chapters or listing the story just once? Don't want you guys to get burn out. :? Uh, by the way, for one of my stories listed in the archive, I noticed that all the chapters were not listed. That is why I thought it might be a pain in the patoot to list all of them, LOL. And that is why I offered to just go through all the listings in the archive, testing all the links and report back to you guys on that.

I don't read online except for the shortest of the stories, but instead print the entire story out so I can make notes for a comment. So I don't have to get back into a certain point in the story online. Leaving a comment for every story I read - I hope that helps the author, but also I can tell which stories I have already read. :D My memory is sooo bad. That is why I wait until a story with multiple chapters is finished before I read it. The only exception to that is the towering talent of Distracted and Blacknblue!

Yes, Linda, that link checking project would be a great help. And if you ever see a story missing from one of the archives, let me know, since it probably is my fault. And yes, it's a huge pain in the butt to index the stories.

She's doing an AWESOME job. It's this kind of service that other sites don't have that (other than ff.net that's automated) causes their archives to get all mothballed and full of holes. Not us!
