Caprica (spoilers)

Did anyone else watch Caprica? I thought it was
and especially opening it with porn and all that cliche cult club dren just felt so LOW. I literally wanted to turn it off as soon as it started. But I gave it a chance anyway
I mean like are they really that desperate and out of ideas that they turn to the lowest possible dren. I don't know if they're actually gonna air it like that or censor all that stuff. But I still had the misfortune of watching that tripe.
I downloaded it because I read it's supposed to be a prequel to BSG. I just wanted to watch some more sci-fi and cylons. Yeah I know BSG was like a "darker" sci-fi show not all happy happy perfect, and I guess they were trying to go with "dark" for Caprica as well. But I'm sorry while I really like BSG, in Caprica the "dark" and "raw" and whatever factor seems like it's just a stupid excuse to turn to the rock bottom of inspiration crisis. It really sickens me how the media praises and promotes the supposed "dark" and "raw" and "real" as "innovative" or whatever that's supposed to be like the "non conformist" and opposite of the "mainstream", which now obviously became its own new mainstream duh,
and so basically people just use it as an excuse to stuff more and more taboos like sex, drugs, violence etc in crazier wilder forms that's anything BUT raw, real, innovative or creative. Anyone ever saw "Eyes Wide Shut"... I had to suffer through that fake, retarded, boring kink fest when my cagemates watched it in the room. I'd say the "v-club" dren in Caprica is pretty much the same kinda stuff just like more exaggerated, with the difference that in Caprica it's in the virtual reality rather than real life (which is another excuse to exaggerate it and load as much of it as possible
).
It just feels like an excuse not to put any effort and thought into the show or the characters etc. As if that's gonna bring in the rating. Well maybe it will the way society is these days, we're so totally turning into Idiocracy
but anyway. "Dark" and "raw" and "real" and "non conformist" my big fat ass. I'm dark and raw and real and non conformist and I'm not into any of that dren. Gimme a frelling break and come up with actual plot and characters and stuff that takes talent and effort.
And the "genius teenage rebel" who's so genius she knows how to do all that stuff better than her father who's been trying to figure that stuff out like forever. *cough*MarySue*cough* I mean like really come on.
And for something that's supposed to take place 58 years before BSG I think it kinda looks like the technology is like way more advanced than what we saw in BSG
kinda like they're using all that background/setting stuff of technology to fill their "quota" of sci-fi stuff so that they can put whatever dren they want in the foreground. Maybe it's just me but it really didn't make me feel all sci-fi-ish just because people have like robo-butlers and such.
Um and I thought the cylon CGI looked kinda fake
