Essay about the LHC, physics, and fate

Guys, this is too weird. Someone has a theory about the LHC that sounds like Star Trek plot.

As near as I can figure, the theory is is that if the new Supercolider finds the Higgs boson it will somehow negatively impact (wipe out?) the past. THEREFORE, because we do exist, we live in a universe where the Higgs boson is not created by a Supercolider. Therefore any supercolider with enough energy to create the Higgs boson will be hit by a string of bad luck that prevents it from going online.

Well, anyhow that's what I glean from the story, lol . . .

Hmmm . . . . there is a Star Trek story here waiting to be written.

But seriously, I wish the LHC researchers all all good things . . . ut oh . . . If it starts emiting chronoton radiation we're in deep trouble.

Our astronomy club had one of the researchers speak on the LHC last spring, and it was one of the best lectures our club has ever had. So I am actually really excited about the project and wishing the researchers the BEST of luck.
