I haven't watched most of these, but the advice about the ones I have watched strikes me as very solid.

true... though for most I'd add the caveat of watching the first episodes of all of them before skipping to where they recommend - that way you get the intro "who's who and what's what" before you get into the good stuff...

But, then again, I can't even talk about my day without doing it in strict order, and so, no matter how bad it is, tend to watch everything in order... Oh well. Almost finished with season 3 of VOY on my netflix rewatch endevour, at least. On to the good stuff. Finally.

One of the great, notorious mistakes Fox made with the excellent "Firefly" was to not show the pilot, which introduced the world and its characters, first. They felt it didn't have enough action, so they aired the second episode first. However, "Firefly"'s appeal was not its action, though it had action, but the richness of its world and characters. I did not enjoy the "first" episode that aired and sadly did not continue to watch. When I saw the show on DVD, watching the pilot first, I was hooked because I wanted to know more about the characters.

Wait, no love for Farscape? Unacceptable!

I was glad to find The Twilight Zone in the list though. I loved that show. And Babylon 5 remains my all time favorite.

Farscape was amazing. And so amazingly irrevrent.... I think it's one of those cult things, though. Far more so than Star Trek.
