So why DID you pick your Screen name?
Thought the responses to this might be fun....
Mods if this isn't ok my apologies!
T'Sara was a character in The Devil's heart....one of the 1st Trek books I remember reading.
I'd like to use the name in my own fan fic one of these days if I can get my muse too corporate with me.
I have Idea's....just can't seem to get them organized!
Looking forward to reading everyone's responses!

It's short for the name of my home star system. I sure as hell don't want to admit being from this backwater planet...

I've said this before, and it's obvious, but it bears repeating for those that are under the mistaken impression that they ever have my full attention. I chose Distracted because...well...I am.

Re: So why DID you pick your Screen name?
Mine came from the fact that I needed an alter screen name from my normal one, but I wanted (for my own sake) for it to be alphabetically right next to my old one so my stories would all be in a row in the author index. So I figured enterpri was good to get me next to enterprisescribe, but now I needed an ending. I thought, hey I like kayaking, why not use kayak?
T'Sara, of course I remember now! That seemed so familiar to me. I got the cassette version of The Devil's Heart and listened to Gates McFadden reading it as I went to sleep for months. Weird dreams this gives you, as I recall.
Trouble getting started T'Sara? Start writing scenes. That's it. Stories aren't always linear in creation (I bet rarely). For me it is like making a paper flower from the middle out, or from the upper left side down, or what have you. Start with something, and more connects and connects. You see what you must go and add before or after. Also, if I am bored writing one part, or get stuck, I go the bit where Trip's brother phones and do that scene instead. Have an idea? Write it out prose style. Write that whole scene, even if you don't know what lies b4 or after. More will come, I almost promise.
Warning: when you write this way, you really gotta go through and edit after, cause little confusions get in, like 3/4 the way down Infrequentus Part 1, when I mix up which baby has red and which has green blood. I wrote the beginning of the scene at a different time from the end.

I have a 3-legged cat who likes to sit on my coffee maker when it's all fired up.
See:
You don't have to call me CoffeeCat. My given name is Alma and I don't mind if people use it online.

It's my college nickname. My old roomie, with whom I still occassionally hang, still uses it.
It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Re: So why DID you pick your Screen name?
As it says on my homepage:
I'm an old Science Fiction and Star Trek fan from Sweden who grew up with the original series in the Seventies and the movies in the Eighties. I never got that excited about any of the modern Trek shows (and I have yet to actually see Deep Space Nine) until Star Trek: Enterprise came along. Sure it wasn't perfect - as my reviews will tell you - but it made me interested in Star Trek again.
I got enough interested to register on the TrekBBS so I could talk and interact with other Trek and ENT fans. I chose the nickname "Kevin Thomas Riley" from one of my favourite guest stars on the original series. When ENT's fourth season came along I started posting reviews of the episodes on the board. After the premature cancellation of the show, I went back to review episodes from the beginning.
I have since left TrekBBS for various reasons, but I can still be found at the Brunette Jolene and Triaxian Silk boards.
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Re: So why DID you pick your Screen name?
I've been writing Trek fanfic for - oh my word - six years now, since the end of Voyager. I needed a screen name, and I liked how JadziaKathryn sounded. It's supposed to be a first and middle name - I think they go well together. Later I realized it could *shudder* be misconstrued as some weird slash thing, but frankly I like it and am keeping it. I think Jadzia is a beautiful name, but I wouldn't saddle a child with it. Maybe a pet.

Re: So why DID you pick your Screen name?
Heh. I understand that. Some of the names from Greek mythology (Telemachus, Odysseus, Patroclus) are just awesome sounding, but there's no way I'd saddle any kid with a name like that...
Re: So why DID you pick your Screen name?
I like Vulcans and I like pop tarts (well the ones with the chocolate). And I'm weird. Oh and if I ever have kids I'll name them Vulcan names
