I think I like cylons. They're cool. Well except for that reporter chick from "Final Cut" I think she's like the worst cylon ever (well at least up to that episode because that's as far as I got), I mean like seriously who didn't know she was like a total cylon from the first time her face appeared on the screen. Might as well wear a flashy neon sign on her head "I'm a cylon and I need unlimited access to your ship to get your inside military info to my evil friends". Well that would be kinda long for a flashy neon head sign Confused but I guess just "I'm a cylon" would do. But anyway I think cylons are pretty damn cool and I like them. Very Happy

And another thing I like in BSG is that the "minor" characters aren't reduced to like extras/day players there's like so many people, and each of them gets their spotlight and development, they're more than just recurring familiar faces they're actually people you get to learn about. And I like that about the show. Very Happy

Oh and I like Starbuck because she reminds me a lot of myself. Well except for her smoking like a chimney Confused yucks. Razz

Well, in olden times, they were mostly robot creatures, like silver Stormtroopers. A red light flashed across what seemed to be narrow rectangular screen on the front of their heads. And most of their dialogue was: "By yourrr commmanddd." Cybernetic warriors of few words. Strong, semi-silent types. Laughing

It was a hoot. Laughing Paw from Bonanza was Adama. And there was a ludicrous robot dog/bear thing. And Starbuck was a guy.

Ahh, Grasshopper- no, wait - maybe that should be young Padawan. In even older days, many of the programs in primetime were Westerns. Bonanza was arguably the most famous of these. Some say Gunsmoke, though. It ran from 1959 to 1973. Actually slightly before my time, since I was not allowed to watch television until I was 10, but it was in syndication for ever and ever. And ever.

I actually prefer his Tom Zarek to his Apollo, mostly 'cause Zarek is a lot more three dimensional than the old BSG Apollo ever was. That doesn't mean I agree or entirely like Zarek, but the character is definitely more interesting...
