Thanks guys. It was a rather tumultuous birthday for political astronomy club reasons, but the happy wishes did help! I'm 49! This year is my last before I'm officially old.
I'm going to make the most of it.

JT, you are middle aged, not old. You won't be old for about a decade. Enjoy your middle age. You have a lot of living to do.

You're standing on a ball of molten iron that is billions of years old, whooshing in long lazy elliptical orbits through a complex planetary system that is even older.
Just because the planet has gone round a few times doesn't mean you're old. Compared to everything else around here, you're practically brand new.
Another drink? Don't mind if I do.

Happy Belated Birthday, Ann - I hope it was a great one for you! (I want to apologize for this being late. I haven't been online here in awhile, as real life has a nasty habit of interfering with my fun at times).

Re: Happy Birthday, JT
I've been watching Rosanne Barr's new reality show "Rosanne's Nuts" (she is now a nut farmer in Hawaii). She has adult children and grandchildren dropping by all the time. She has a longtime boyfriend around her age. She is like 9 years older than me. I'm going to use her as my aging role model, lol . . . because it's doable.
