Here's an easy logic puzzle for you (because I like logic puzzles and this one involves cake!):

You must cut a birthday cake into exactly eight pieces, but you're only allowed to make three straight cuts, and you can't move pieces of the cake as you cut. How can you do it?

Not a very hard puzzle for a math freak like him. Unless he sucks at geometry anyway.

Oh oops sorry, I forgot it was supposed to be a LOGIC puzzle. Nevermind.

PLus it was supposed to be for him.

And I guess there are two ways, one of which is 2D.

It's really funny that you ask that because I'm in the middle of trying to prove (for a class) that precise problem. The maximum number of regions into which you can divide R^3 by n-planes , and that's exactly the maximum for n=3 - 8 regions!
