Saw this ad and just thought I'd ask all the talented writers/songwriters here maybe someone wanna try. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/tlg/442363253.html

I could totally do that but I'm really not that good at writing like cute stuff etc :? :? :? (having no friends or family kinda distorts the whole "holiday" concept :? :? ) so like anything I write would probably end up like totally cynical and sarcastic with stuff about Santa upgrading to a Bird of Prey and what the frell are Vulcans doing in the North Pole (looking for the Aenar, duh  ). Or some other crazy dren. :? But just posted in case any of the sane people here would wanna go for it. :)

Well but like then I'd probably end up filking those songs into like stuff about Santa upgrading to a Bird of Prey and what the frell are Vulcans doing in the North Pole. Or some other crazy dren :? :?  gah.

But it says "no pay". Why would we want to write anything non-Trek and not get paid for it? :?

How does it work, BTW? Have you done something like this before? When we send our names or email in to the requestor, do we get the music to write from, or do we write the words first and then they write the music?

It said you'd get 10% of the album sales each month. Just no up-front pay, I guess.

This, of course, assumes that it's not just a scam to get lyrics without paying for them. I personally wouldn't write word one without a notarized contract.

I never wrote any music for someone else... but I think the songwriter's actually supposed to write like both the music and lyrics.
