Everything okay where I live... but then again it's a beach, like what are you gonna burn, sand?? But like we do get a lot of smoke from the fires here. My lungs are NOT HAPPY

Has anyone heard from Hopeful Romantic?

Yes I've heard from Hopeful Romantic she's okay but the fire was too close for comfort. She said the winds have died down it looks like things are going to be okay.

I'm okay. It looks like the Santa Clarita fires have all been contained. We were pretty much surrounded by three big fires here, and several smaller ones. The Buckweed fire came within 5 miles of us to the north, and a spot fire broke out a mile south of us Tuesday, but the firefighters were on top of it right away and kept it to 40 acres. They've been real champs, working 24 hour shifts in brutal conditions. The sky has been orange and brown for days from the smoke, and we've had planes and choppers flying over nonstop, doing water drops from dawn till dusk. We had the TV on to check for wind shifts and evac warnings. Every TV station had the fire on, 24/7. It's been pretty crazy.

yikes! glad yer okay! BC burns down every summer, but it always seems to stay up north.

When the wind stopped, the smoke settled like smog over the valley (ick), but we actually had a little rain today. That helped the air a lot.
