Find Mars in the Night Sky

Hi,

I just thought I'd mention, it's REALLY easy to find Mars right now with your naked eyes. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, look straight up about 9:00pm at night and there it is! The brightest, reddest "star" in the sky. And it will be there for a while. Not just tonight.

If you don't trust yourself with just those directions, It's at the foot of the constellation Gemini. With Gemeni standing up, It's "above" Orion, and "to the left" of Tarus.

Clear skies and Look UP!

:D

Not here either.

"Clear skies!" is the way amateur astronomers sign their emails. Like "Best wishes" or "Happy Holidays!" :)

Thanks for the tip. I'm glad it's not just tonight, because we've got clouds. That's a good thing about planets - from our perspective, they don't move very fast.

I've found Mars several times the last few days and the sky was beautiful seeing Mars and orion and Tauraus and the Pleiades together is one of my favorite sites to look at during the winter.
