Aureilia and I carved her pumpkins today.
The first one was so unbelievably hard, I could hardly stab it with my knife. The 2nd one was easier to cut, and so we did a cat!

I hate to say this T'Poptarts, but you are too OLD for trick or treating. Older kids should get together with their friend and go out to haunted houses. (Sorry to be so strict)

Well, get dressed up, take a picture, post it here, and we'll send you cyber brownies.

We never hassle older kids who come to our door. We're glad to see they're in the spirit. There's a group of teenage boys who've come around the last couple of years, and they're pretty cool. We usually send them away with a box of pizza and a pop each because at least they're trick-or-treating instead of out causing trouble. They sit on the curb and eat, throw their stuff away, and go...and they're very polite! I have NO problem with that kind of thing as long as they have good manners.

and also, you don't want the random possible consequences either. kids denied expected candy can be scary.

When you get older, it's more about scaring the little kids than getting candy anyway.

I still get to hassle my own kids.

My ten year old's decided she's too old for trick-or-treating. She's dressing up like "Sponge-Babe Squareskirt" (don't ask

) and she and her best friend down the road (a rather odd young man who plans to dress up as "Hannah Montana", complete with blonde wig and makeup) are having a party at his house. Fortunately, I know his mother and trust her.
My 16 year old and her friends (both girls and boys) are all putting on their finest transvestite gear and going to a local live performance of Rocky Horror.
Whatever happened to just going out into the neighborhood in a sheet with holes in it and then eating candy til you puke?
