For what it's worth, I recall a Shatner interview (don't remember where) done before the election and he got the question of which candidate James Kirk would've voted for. Shatner's answer was that Kirk would go for McCain. (Shat himself supported Obama.)

But Trekkies are moving on in politics. I red some where on a site refering to Obama's "Vulcan" qualities and a Republican governor Tim Pawlently (I hope I spell his name right) as T'Paw. The writer - who claimed to be a Trekkie, confused T'Paw with T'Pau. (And I have no idea who governor T'Paw is ).
Some how I prefer Data in any cabinet. Hard working, full of details, likes to talk.

ok, no, but um... Elim Garak for National Security Advisor. Dead serious. This guy would GET SHIT DONE. Ok maybe better as Director of the CIA.

I'd make Data tha Press Secretary. Imagine the frustration the White House press corps would have with him. They wouldn't be able to ask that many questions...
