Not as good as that picture, but here is my old New Years Eve story, which may have been the first "new" story posted at Triaxian Silk:
Welcoming the New Year, 2154
My excuse: It's only the second T'nT story I ever wrote. Then it sat awhile.

When I get home, I'm drinking beer, reading
justTripin's story, and finishing watching Season Four, then will loop back around to the beginning of Season One, and keep watching until I pass out on the couch!

Happy New Year! Just remember they're adding a 'leap second' so 2009 will start a little late. You'll just have to make your New Year kiss last that extra second.

My New Years resolution: I'm going to remember to wish my twins, "Happy Birthday" on New Years. Why can't I remember? We "moved" their birthday to July 1 when they were one and a half so they could have a summer party out of the way of the holidays. Now, I still can't get it right. Last year I called my Chris at midnight and said, "Do you need a pickup?" He sounded so disappointed like, "Oh. I thought you were going to wish me happy birthday. That's alright, Mom, you'll get it next year."

Ouch. Next time you'll know better than to move their birthdays just to improve their childhood!
Jaime often calls his daughter to serenade her for her birthday two days early. We're not sure why unless that's when Jenny first went into labor. And I have occasionally wished my father a happy birthday a whole month early, which is pretty bad since his email address had his birthday on it.
So were your twins the first babies of the year? I bet they were the first TWINS of the year!
