I haven't even watched that Sarah Connor show yet. I'm already dying over her b/c of Firefly.

You guys watch too much TV, LOL. :raspberry: Get outside in the sun, summer is short. Well, short in Wisconsin, and for KTR in Sweden. But I guess Distracted has a long summer. 8) Ah, no, Dis, stay inside and write!

No worries. It's 100 degrees in the shade out there. I'd rather be indoors.

What's so great about being outdoors? There's bloodsuckers and I get sunburn.

What's so great? Summer breezes, swimming, lying on the grass under trees and looking up at dappled light coming through the leaves, flowers blooming, playing catch with the grandkids, bouncing over the lake in the boat, fishing from the boat, long walks through parks, riding bikes on old railroad right-of-ways converted to trails, picking apples. I could go on and on. 8)

All of which sound very nice, but become somewhat less appealing when you can't walk two steps outside without becoming drenched in sweat. :?

Distracted, it sounds like you stay inside in summer and I stay inside in winter! Yeah, I hate sweat that you don't have to work for. But it has been in the 60s and 70s here mostly, which is really fine weather. But I hear it will be in the high 80s or into the 90s tomorrow...which means sweating while standing still. Yuck!

North Dakota is all about extremes. This time of year, it is very hot an humid. We have a lot of flies, mosquitoes, and ticks, and it seems like even with sunscreen, if I'm outside for much longer than an hour at a time, I get burnt. Winter is very cold and dry. So I pretty much just stay inside all year since we have no real spring or fall seasons to speak of.

Yuck. Well, CX, there's one way to make sure the neighborhood doesn't get too crowded.

I don't actually want to use this as an avatar myself, but I'm pretty excited that I downloaded GIMP tonight and finally figured out how to make one of these things:

Image

If anybody wants it, just let me know. It could be better, as my kid was quick to point out.

CX, my kid says your avatar is "sweet." This means it's very cool and desirable among 13-year-olds in Rensselaer County, New York.

He wants to know what it is.
