Sentimental astronomers. One of our club's observatories celebrated it's 20th year anniversary. (Our second observatory is 2 years old.) I was there for this star party, but arrived as the sun was setting, so I'm not in the pictures. I'm V.P. of the club! The video sure captures the mood of the star parties. What are they looking at in the daylight? The Sun, the Moon, and Venus.

I got to go riding for the first time in 10 years! Since priso was the one who derailed me riding way back in 1997 (as my 16 yr old distracting boyfriend), it was fitting that he should come to see my first lesson. He made a cool composite of his pix and it turned out quite well, all round. (Riding included, except now my bum is sore. Ow. My bum hurts.)

This is the SPL book-cart drill team, the Bookineers, marching in the Seattle Gay Pride parade. Seattle has not one, but two Gay Pride parades. We are an interesting town. Every so often the Bookineers pause, put their right forefingers to their lips, and go "SHHHH!!!" This is how you can tell they're from the library. And the big signs on the front of their carts, of course.
