Antique cars are fun to look at. The back seats of older cars have lots of leg room!
Have you tried those wrist pressure bands for motion sickness? I don't get motion sickness much, but the time or two that I did, those wrist bands helped.

They have worked for me a few times in the past, but if I don't place them right, I get hiccups. Wierd and probably unrelated, but it can be an interesting side effect. I usually bring along candied ginger, which is very helpful, but there are some trips where the "torture" is so prolonged that nothing completely helps. Detroit has definitely topped my torture day-trip list, followed closely by any place where I'm forced to travel in a hired car, taxi, or a puddle jumper.
I'm dreading my trip to Minnesota next, because I know there's a puddlejumper involved!

Re: Randomness
Candied ginger? Does that help if you are already in the throes of motion sickness? If so, I will stock some on my boat. I have some motion sickness tablets in a 'boat' first aid kit, but they did not help a friend of mine who got sick on the boat. Some of these motion sickness remedies need to be taken a couple of hours before you board the boat or airplane, right? I'd like to find something I can keep on hand when my boat causes my friends to get sick.

It helps even when you're sick-- it's like drinking ginger ale or ginger beer-- they all help settle the stomach. Plus, the wierd sweet burning taste gives you something different to focus on.

See, sometimes good things do happen.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Dude. Hamster just called me. Wants to like hang out and stuff.
Probably because I'm like the only one here who was actually nice to her while she was here (she got kicked out Monday).
In spite of her condescending bitchy attitude.
Well but that doesn't mean anything, I'm nice to everyone even people I hate!!
And now she wanna hang out with me. Hamster.
I mean... HAMSTER. Dude.

I'd try making a ginger tea with the ginger powder or chopped ginger root.
Too many of the ginger ale's out there have little to no actual ginger in it.

There's ginger beer, which I've had. It's not actually alcoholic (as I had to explain to the cashier when I was trying to buy some while underage) so I don't know why they call it that, but it's pretty good. Some brands have a bit too much ginger, but some are tasty.

Re: Randomness
I've just bought myself a car (from a friend). This will probably sound weird to the Americans here, but I've never owned a car before and I'm one week short of 39.
I got my driver's licence at 18, but I haven't driven that much since. And recently my friend bought another car, so when he was going to sell his old one I thought "why not?"
It's not a new car or anything. It's a Citroën Xantia from 1995 (yeah, yeah, no French jokes, please
) but it's in good shape and it's medium sized. This isn't my car, but it's pretty much how it looks like.
I wonder what I should name it? I'm considering "Sarko"!

I've only had my license a month and I can't imagine not having a car. I don't know about names, though. I'm not really into naming cars. Of course, you could always name it Enterprise...

^ Or Tripoli!
But then it would be awkward to explain that to my friends who has barely heard of ENT, let alone TnT...

Meh that's not too weird.
I got my first car/ license when I was 21/22.
That's old for an american!
Since I was in the Army though I did have a license to drive a military vehicle.....just not a civilian one.
