Ah, it looks like you can have a very peaceful vacation in Finland. Nice places to sit and meditate.

Mitchell, at first I thought those were Turkey Buzzards in the first pic and I was thinking - he's gonna eat buzzard ?
Those are really "regular" turkeys, right? Down my way, I don't see many wild turkeys - only the buzzards. And boy are they ugly birds.

Believe it or not, that's what it looks like here in the city of Pittsburgh too. (We live by a park, near a river, so I often have to slow to a stop for the flock of turkeys and the deer.) But we ARE in the same state, so maybe not so surprising, that Mitchell's scenery looks like mine.

Pittsburg? Gosh, I had a different image of that city in my mind because of a friend in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). He goes to this big medieval war called Pennsic. The country is divided up into kingdoms and two of these have big medieval battles at a campground out somewhere around your area. The loser of the war each year is awarded custody of the city of Pittsburg.

Their have been days, few years ago, where Ive lost count of Deer in a single herd.
Sorry their havent been any Moose In this part of the country for a long, long time.
Think their were a few sightings, an I think a few taken back in the Early 1900s.
But their hasnt been any real Moose herds in PA for a few Hundred years. Only Strays, that got lost from New England.

It's nice to be back. My life became little difficult for a while and I got a little depressed, but I'm recovering and try to start writing again.

Definitely plenty of nice meditation places. Like this one.

And after meditation swimming in the lovely cool water. Vulcans might not agree

About driwing and animals here almost all bigger roads have to have a fence against elks. There are elks even in our capital area and every year we hunt about 70000 elks in our country. And few days ago a road in the southern Finland near the capital area had to be closed for a few hours because there was a bear on the road between the fences and it had to be chased away back into the forest. Still it's very rarely that I see the wild animals so I don't have any neat pictures

Cool water, yes! That is the only water I like to swim in. Lake Michigan is nice to swim in, bone chilling cold. But at times it has pollution because of the big cities on the lake. The small lake in northern Florida where my sister has a cottage, is too warm. It is bath tub warm and not refreshing enough. That lake in Finland looks really clean and unpolluted. Just the place to swim after a meditation, or before a meditation!
I am glad you are recovering from your depression, Bookworm. I feel so slow and tired whenever I get depressed. But a swim in that lake would sure help cure depression for me!

Looks like a lake in North Dakota or northern Minnesota. Most lakes I've ever been in are freezing, so I'm not much for swimming, even in a pool, even on a hot day.

Re: Member pics
^^I'm way OT here, but as for the moose, I saw one driving to work about 6 years ago. I was about 8 months pregnant and it was 3 AM in the morning so I kind of did a double take to make sure it really was a moose, but it was. It was walking right in the middle of the road and up a hill. I actually had to wait for it to get up the hill before it decided to run off into the woods. Never a dull moment. My husband has hit 5 deer just driving in to work, but at least the moose seem to move slowly. I really wouldn't want to run into one of them with a vehicle. Deer are quick, though. They seem to be able to spring 10 feet ahead on a dime. It's scary sometimes.

My stepsister's dad hit a deer in his car. I believe that he had a VW sports thingy, not any more! He hit it on an a-road and wrote the car off. The cops say he was lucky to be alive.
