Dorms are SO much fun! *she says sarcastically* I did dorms for eight years (college and med school), complete with bugs and rats and noisy neighbors and the highway on-ramp just outside my window. I think my oldest child ingested more roaches in his first year of life than he did vegetables. Blame the married student dorms at LSU Med School.

And crunchy!
It did sorta freak me out when I kept finding little roach legs in his diaper, though.

Re: The Whine thread.
My dorm experiance has never gotten worse than noisy neighbors. My nearly full bottle of body wash was stolen once, and once some of my neightbors proved just how deeply I can sleep by flipping everything in the room upside down except for the bed I was sleeping on, but fortunately nothing was damaged. This year and my first year in Hancock were quiet, it was only last year I had to put up with annoying loud neighbors, and of course those annoying years in the freshman dorm, but whatever. Point is, no rats, no roaches, nothing horrible about the dorms. And I've been here so long that I have moving in and moving out down to a science.

Re: The Whine thread.
I didn't have the "Dorm" experience per ce......I did however live in housing/ barracks in the Army that should have been condemed.
Roaches the size of simi's, sewer flys, rats, lead paint that was flaking off the wall, aspestoes, you name it.....I lived with it.

Re: The Whine thread.
I lived in ex-Nazi barracks while in Germany. We had pictures of Nazi units standing outside the kasernes. It was totally weird.

How good are you with mechanical stuff?
If you are than maybe you could cannibalize the other two to make at least one work?
I've done it before....it's not too hard if you are handy with taking things apart and putting them back together.
Try that?
