Or try living at a place that doesn't require garden work!

I think my oldest child ingested more roaches in his first year of life than he did vegetables. Blame the married student dorms at LSU Med School.
At least this dorm isn't that bad. However, I'm more than a little irk that the university provides neither paper towels nor air dryers.

The fire alarm went off this morning at 1:40 am. It concerns me a bit that my roommate and I were among the very last people out of the building. (I'm a heavy sleeper, but I was up before her.) Anyway we were all standing outside for 20 minutes while the firemen were in and campus security was there. We had a bunch of people swarming around. They never told us what the problem was, though. At least it wasn't a real fire.

However, the internet is inclined to sporadically slow like molasses, which is going to drive me nuts.

Seems pretty common. None of the dorms that I've stayed in offered either. It was always BYOT (bring your own towel... and sometimes toilet paper)

To add to that, I went to an 80% male school and our dorm floor used to be all male-- and our bathroom door read "Men".

People who lived on the floor knew that the bathroom closest to the elevator was the ladies room, but we had a few "surprises" from visitors  while showering or changing in the beginning of the year until our RA put a sign reading "Wo" in front of the "Men".

I must say, it was never boring. And I learned to shower and change fast (And never to forget my keys! There was nothing like being stuck outside of my dorm room for a half an hour in a towel. :? )

Heh. We get the fire alarm all the time here. Usually at crazy hours. Stupid wasted party people set it off all the time. And like obviously it wakes people up (those who aren't too wasted or heavy sleepers... I'm a light sleeper everything wakes me up :? ) because the damn thing's loud. But it happens so often and for no reason that people don't even get out of bed just wait for it to be turned off. :? :? :? :?

Well, that's why I don't go in just a towel!

 Well, I thought I was being safer-- less chance of being walked in on by a random male visitor while changing (my roommate screamed so loud when it happened to her that they heard her two floors down)... but it's only safe when you remember your keys!

I have a bathroom in my cage but if it's like occupied and I have to use the other bathroom (all bathrooms are coed) I change like inside the shower. Closed curtain and locked door and all. Hell I wouldn't even change around chicks. :? :? :? :? :?

Wow, you mean little ol' UND does something better than these other Uni by actually providing paper towels and TP? Do they at least clean the bathrooms for you, or do you have to draw straws? :raspberry:

*pouts* The university where I did my undergrad had air dryers. But at least we have TP here. And they do clean the bathrooms, although somehow I never feel quite as clean as I do at home.

Well and since then they did a bunch of other porn stuff. :upchuck: And they're like extremely loud and obnoxious just screaming all the time (like even if it's not sex related  ). Would any of you be kind to supply me with an alibi if um... say someone found a pile of bodies outside that all looked like they'd been pushed out of a 3rd floor window? :p

Ah... the wholesome games of childhood. Now I'll never play Truth or Dare again.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
