Just finished reading 2 Charles Sheffield novels, Aftermath and Firestar. Pretty good characterization. Thought provoking (but occasionally long winded) science. Not the most entertaining books I've ever read, but interesting, very interesting.

^ I'm watching Jericho as well since it's airing in Sweden (we're now at episode 9) and I'm actually liking it a lot. And it's not just because I find Ashley Scott really hot.

And the other day they statred showing Heroes here too. After having seen two episodes I'm still undecided but it looks promising. I'm really liking that Japanese nerd guy. And the mommy stripper showed off some nice bum in the first episode!

;)
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Watching 9/11 DVDs and tapes. Today is a memorial day as much as the legal holiday Memorial Day is.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Watching a show without the special effects sound is really weird.

I finally read Your Mom 'N Me last night. All at once. To steal a phrase from ekayak, I came up "googly-eyed" after a few hours. This all started out as a diversion from a mind-numbingly dull monograph I was reading for class, but it took on a life of its own and I read straight through the PG-13 version. With the white letters my eyes were protesting at the end, but I thought it was quite epic. Certainly more interesting than this hideous foray into intellectual history I was supposed to be reading! In particular I liked the last sentence. I'm big on last sentences, and this one was fabulous.

I'm trying to finish Dominion war book 3 if I find the time. and I hope I'll get time to finish reading book 4 so I can read an Alexander Dumas novel.

Just watched Warm Springs, a biographical docudrama about FDR, specifically his post-polio years leading up to his return to politics. It starred Kenneth Branagh (whom I loved in that version of Henry V so many years ago) as FDR, and, for a Brit, he did a pretty good job as Roosevelt. A very good movie, IMO, even if FDR isn't one of my favorite presidents...

Eating: "Greek Grilled Cheese" (ripped off from some magazine recipe and changed through improvisation since I didn't have the magazine on me-- I had no garlic, so I made do with garlic powder): Heat up a tiny bit of olive oil in a pan. Cut 1/4 of a red pepper into thin slices and saute with two or three handfuls of (WASHED and non-recalled) baby spinach. When spinach is withered, take off heat, season with salt and garlic powder and pepper (in a perfect world, saute a little bit of garlic in the olive oil prior to adding anything... then skip the powder). Mix with as much feta cheese as you want (I put in about 1/4 cup), stuff into a whole wheat pita that has been sprayed with non stick spray and sprinkled with garlic. Return to a clean frying pan for a minute or two on each side. MmmmmMMMmmmm Makes one big serving

Watching: Dirty Jobs. Gives you major respect for the people who keep our country running and our toilets flushing.

an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
