Ah... the wholesome games of childhood. Now I'll never play Truth or Dare again

I have to agree with that and it was a game I used to enjoy. What a shame.

Whine: My randomly assigned roommate appears not to like me. I don't know why, because at first I thought we'd get along well. She was okay with me not wanting parties in the room or guys staying overnight. But now she seems to be trying very hard to pretend I don't exist. In the last 24 hours she's spoken to me once, and that was asking to borrow my tape. She hasn't even returned it.

If it gets to be a problem I'd take it up with the housing department. Or you could move into a designed single like I have and never have to worry about a rommate again. :D

Maybe she's just busy. I remember "randomly assigned college roommates". Most of them thought I was antisocial. I just don't talk much to people I don't know well when every second of my day counts. Taking 21 hours including Physics, Calculus, and Organic Chemistry can do that to you. Give her a chance. When she knows you better perhaps things will improve.

Ah... Organic Chemistry. :raspberry:

I remember it well.

The foul subject came within half a grade point of preventing me from graduating. Or rather, it came within half a point of letting me graduate with a minor in Chemistry. I just barely squeaked by with my fourth year lab. Too obsessed with practical applications of organic chemistry between myself and my wife-to-be to waste time in that musty old lab staring at a bunsen burner.

I requested a single. The university decided not to give me one.

I don't know about that. When we first met she was nicer. Maybe she changed her mind about not minding my request for no parties in the room and no guys overnight. What I think is more likely, based on her few comments, is that she hates living in the dorms (she's nontraditional so she never has before) and I'm tied up in the whole dorm thing.

But now I've taken to pretending I have a single. Since we have a door that divides the two rooms (there's an outer room and an inner room) this is relatively easy. I figure that as long as I don't start singing I should be alright, and I just won't expect to be friends. My randomly assigned undergrad roommate became my best friend, so I guess that tinted my view a little.

Well, it could always be worse for me. At least my roommate is sane. And I'm blessed that I can go on and get a Master's anyway.

Sometimes purging your system helps with migraines. Painkillers are usually useless if you don't take them at the right moment and over the counter ones are totally useless. The best ones are fast acting strong prescription painkillers.

Actually, if it's a classic migraine with aura... and sometime for migraines without aura... painkillers aren't as practical as specific prescription migraine medications called triptans. Narcotic pain meds can be effective, but they're potentially addictive and cause drowsiness, limiting their usefulness. Triptans, when effective, abort the headache without sedation, enabling the headache sufferer to return to his or her activities without having to go sleep off the pain meds.

This has been a free and unsolicited public service announcement. Now back to your regularly scheduled whine. 8)

I spent $250 on a bridesmaid dress (that I don't love, but then again what bridesmaid does?) only to find out from the mother of the bride that the bride and groom eloped a few weeks ago. The bride called me eventually but I'm still more than a little ticked off. There's more to it but I don't really feel I should divulge details, as much as I want to gripe about it.

:sigh: I'm just a bit tired of having my friends dissapoint me as of late. Last semester I wrote this terribly bitter poem about one scenario and shared it with my equally bitter creative writing class. I was shocked to see them enjoy it (or at least the extent that they did). I guess we can all relate to a good 'whine' now and then.

Distracted what's the difference with migraine with aura and migraine without aura?(I haven't noticed any difference in migraines they feel the same painful and make your head spin ) My mom got once prescribed some painkillers specially for migraines that cost around 10 dollars per pill and she said to me that they only work if you take them at the right time so when I got a prescription also I didn't buy mine out.

An aura is a self limited neurologic symptom, like wavy lines in the vision on one side, which predictably occurs just prior to the onset of the pain of a migraine headache. People who get auras respond really well to the triptans because they have a warning sign that tells them to get the meds ready, so they can take a pill at the very beginning of the headache. You're right, though. Triptans are less effective if taken later in the headache. Some of the newer ones do work if taken later, just maybe not as well. People who don't get auras need to have the medication on their person at all times so they can take the meds right away as soon as they notice a headache. Auras give about a 15 minute warning for most people, so sometimes they can get away with leaving the meds in their car, at the office or at home if they can get home in time, but it's probably better for them to carry them as well, since it's dangerous to drive during a visual aura.
