Ouch. My sympathies. I did that once, with the end of potato peeler. Just scooped off the end of my finger. Hope it feels better soon.

To pair up with my "Randomness" post.... I need to sew those pointe shoes that are in my fridge tonight. I hate sewing those things.

Why I hate sewing pointe shoes...

Very ouchy! Did you know that the only parts of the body that even compare to the fingertips in sensitivity are the lips and the genitals? :?

ATTENTION: UNSOLICITED MEDICAL OPINION AHEAD. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. 8)

It's best to cover the open wound with something thick and cushy until it heals. Once the bleeding stops (it may take til the am) you could cover the fingertip with a gel type bandage like Blister Block that you leave on for 3 days and a bandaid on top of that to protect the gel. If a gel dressing isn't available, your next best option is a coating of antibiotic ointment to prevent sticking and a "fingertip bandaid" on top.

Good luck. Tip amputations hurt like hell (as you already know) and can take weeks to heal depending on how much got taken off. Does it cramp your style when typing?

Not to mention.....they cost $70.00 or more and they only last for 3 months or less.

That's every few months you have to get a new pair. Blah!

I have a pair of my old pointes that look like crap....and man alive they are dirty!

I only danced in them a few months to before I stopped ballet!

I should post a picture! lol

You know, before I saw that first one, I was watching something on TV about Ferengi, so for some reason I thought those were Ferengi lobes. :?
