Re: What are you...
In "The Forgotten", I love the last scene with Trip writing the letter and saying good-bye to his sister. Such a brief momment: "Good-bye, Elizabeth". But not a good-bye in the sense he won't think about her anymore, but a good-bye to the pain so now he can thing of her with fond memories instead of nightmares. That is how I interpret it.
Remember the scene with Malcolm in the episode "The Xindi" where he practicallly bites Malcolm's head off for asking about a memorial for Lizzy? And Trip deminishes his sister's importance to him by saying she was only one of seven million and that SHE did not like memorials? I was so mad at Trip I could have wrung his neck. So, "The Forgotten" got him back in my good graces.

That is a lovely scene.

In interpreted Trip saying Lizzy was only one of seven million as him trying to diminish the pain more than anything, not to mention that he might have felt that he'd be selfish to only care about his sister when he was hardly the only one to have lost a loved one in the attack.

Re: What are you...
I disagree Cx, sorry. Trip was lashing out verbally at Malcolm when he said that. Malcolm certainly did not deserve that. If Trip was trying not to be selfish, it was self defeating because I see it as a selfish act to diminish a beloved sister to one of seven million to reduce your own pain or acknowledge that others were in pain too. But I like the character flaw and its resolution in a later episode. If he said that to any of his family, I could see a life long resentment of him developing. And I think some writers on Trip/T'Polers had explored that, right? I suppose, knowing what he had to face in The Expanse, he had to postpone mourning in order to function. Probably what a lot of people do in war time or any other situation where they have to go on being effective despite great emotional pain. I can give him that much, though I wanted to shake him silly in that Xindi episode.
The whole Lizzy death thing has been a major issue to me in ENT, and my resolution of it in my own ST universe is not one that many ENT fans agree with, LOL.

...doing?
Well, in a little more than 4 hours a plane will take me to Copenhagen for a two-day business trip. I guess I'll be severely sleep deprived as usual when I go away on these things...

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
