You have to decide that you are going to become a loving person by acting in a loving manner. You do that by caring about people. That's all it takes. Give a care. Doesn't have to be much. The more you care, the more you will find yourself wanting to do. The more you do, the more positive feedback you will receive, and the more you will increase the feeling of caring. It is a feedback loop that constantly intensifies throughout your life.

Love is a feeling and people can't choose like how to feel, only what they do or not do based on their feelings. Acting in a "loving manner" (whatever the hell that means :? ) still won't make me feel an emotion I can't feel :? :? :? and I do care about pretty much everyone and everything like even total strangers etc, so I act in a "caring manner" I guess but the "feedback" I receive is negative to neutral (mostly negative :? ) because that's just the way it is, like people are different a lovable person will be loved, but I just wasn't born to be loved or love or whatever, that's just how it is.

And like it's not some kinda "phase" it's just the way it's always been, now comes the part you're supposed to tell me like how it's all my fault because I "hate myself" and like that's what I project so that's how people treat me, well but I really don't hate myself I like being me, but it's kinda hard to project confidence when I know everyone thinks everything is like totally wrong with me just because I'm me. :? :? :? :?

Maybe it would be helpful to focus on your positive qualities, T'Poptarts.

My mom passed away 15 years ago this Wednesday. We live in the very house I grew up in. I still find little poems and prayers tucked in drawers that I know were meant for me to find. One crinkly, yellow paper went like this.

Blessed are those...

...who understand my awkward step and clumsy hand.
...who know that my ears today must strain to understand the things they say.
...who seem to know that my eyes are bright but my mind is slow.
...with a cheery smile who encourage me to try once more.
...who know the ways of my heart and love me as I am.
...who make me know that I am loved, respected and not alone.
...who know I'm at a loss, to put into words my thoughts.
...who listen for I too have something to say.

I guess the thing being that all of us, at times, have feelings of inadequacy. And all of us, at times, seem to need encouragement and support. Apparently even my mother, who always appeared to me to be a pillar of strength. You do your best and keep trying. That's all any of us can do. Everyone here knows I have an over-the-top sentimental view of life and such... I feel safe enough here to risk showing that. Whenever I feel down, I try to think of all of the beauty in the world. I try to see it, feel it, hear it. Try to do something that makes you feel good. Ask yourself, "What is beautiful in that?" See something that you never saw before with new eyes and a new vision. For me, I usually listen to pretty music or write poetry. I try to just let myself feel the beauty. It comes from within. I think all of us here see your beauty. Maybe you could try to open yourself up to seeing it?

I'm supposed to tell you that huh? Gee kid, I hate to disappoint you, but I ain't gonna do that. I always was contrary, even as a young hooligan like yerself. Now that I am a fuming old codger I figure I can be as difficult as I want and get away with it - so I do.

It's not necessarily your fault either. Perhaps you are merely hanging out with assholes. Ever consider that possibility? Try changing your customary haunts. I have said this before, but find a decent church (Not a cult, nor do I recommend the kind of tight-minded place where you couldn't drive a ten penny nail up the preacher's ass with a nine pound sledgehammer. I mean a church full of emotionally mature Humans) or perhaps join a club like the YMCA, or the Boys & Girls clubs of America, either as a member or as a counselor. Become a Big Sister to a disadvantaged child. Help out at a soup kitchen this Christmas. It might change your viewpoint to see people who really HAVE thrown their lives away. Or have had their lives snatched away from them...

Find people who you admire, and then spend time around them. Imitate them. Avoid people who you do not approve of. If you can't avoid them, try to ignore them if you can. And keep your mind open to possibilities. Life is constantly changing. I will give you my personal word of honor - this time next year your life will be quite different than it is now, and you would never have predicted some of the things that will have happened to you. I don't know what they will be, but I am positive that this is true. I will bet you a chocolate chip cookie.

Well, I had a good dream last night that I can actually remember (for once). I'll spare you the gory details, because I'm sure no one here would want to see them, but it involved Jolene Blalock going from this weird latex robot catsuit down to just her high heels on the back of some car at a German con. It was a really good dream right up to the point I woke up. 8)

You guys are too funny! I can just imagine T'Pol in high heels. "This footwear is highly illogical." Come to think of it, what kind of shoe did she wear? I can't ever remember seeing a shot of her feet. Not that I'd be paying attention to that anyway...

I'm pretty sure she had heels on. Illogical as it is, it adds height and the hippy walk and all those kinds of things TV producers adore.

Just ordered myself some Christmas presents from Amazon.com a complete Babylon 5 series box set, Battlestar Galactica Razor and the complete Stargate SG-1 series box set. Now I have to wait little over a week until I get my hands on them. :D :happyjump:

^ Is that the set which also has the B5 telemovies and Crusade? I also have that!

I have just ordered the complete set of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, all of Earth 2 and all of Space: 1999, plus the rare extended version of David Lynch's Dune.
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Gah why couldn't you bet that like a year ago. Or 2 years ago. etc :? :? :? I could have had chocolate chip cookies by now to sweeten my pointless existence with. :(

Good news well I'm getting an iPod nano and a $50 Amazon gift card and a sweatshirt and a leather journal from the FanLib giveaway. And like I'm particularly proud of myself because I earned all my points posting only my own work, like people were allowed to post like videos they didn't make from YouTube and such crediting the original creator which counted for only 1 point each but still counted. Which pissed off a lot of FanLibbers (including me) who do make their own videos but that's like a totally different (and long) story. Um but anyway I'm getting prizes

But I still want those cookies. :(
