I hear the SFs carry as I described.
Re: What are you...
I wouldn't be surprised, but do you just mean around base too? I was under the impression that's a no-no anywhere and for anyone, but it probably varies command-to-command. It would just seem like an unreasonable risk to me if you weren't in a deployment zone.
btw CX I don't think I ever straight up asked you this but are you a big SG1 fan?
Or I should say WERE you, when it was awesome, up through like season 7

Re: What are you...
*Trying* to watch some more Monk but this 84 year old lady keeps talking talking talking talking talking talking TALKING TO ME all the frelling time like even though she knows I'm doing something, like what is it with people GAH!!!!!
Like you know how people tell their kids stuff like "not now I'm on the phone", "not now I'm busy" etc etc etc, like as long as it's not something urgent like "dad the house's burning" or whatever, have some common sense for crying out loud don't start endless small talks when you frelling know I'm busy!!!!!

Re: What are you...
Ehhh...
I know.
I know.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: What are you...
Okay um is it bad that Monk reminds me a lot of myself?
I mean like not the OCD stuff that he does like having to fix stuff that it's all arranged the same way and the germophobic stuff etc but like the way I notice stuff, like sometimes I even notice details in the episodes before he does (like why was the judge cooking if there's a doggie bag in the fridge, hell it took him like half the episode to notice the doggie bag for crying out loud)
and in real life. I just really catch details for some reason
like for example in the first episode when he recognized which brand of cigarettes the killer was smoking just from the smell, well like I'm really no cigarette expert or a detective or heaven forbid smoker (
) but like if I walk into a smoky room I can tell just by the smell like if the cigarette has been burning for a while or it's just been lit. Well it's really like a totally different smell!
I mean like please someone tell me I'm not the only one who notices stuff like that??
Does that mean I'm OCD?

Yes, I mean around base too. At least that's what we got told. My brother-in-law used to be an SF, so he'd probably know if I asked him.

Yeah, I was, but after I joined the Air Force and knew better it annoyed me to no end that they weren't wearing the right BDUs or using the right weapons.

Here are the diagnostic criteria for OCD. If you have them all, there are meds that can help.

OCD
But personally, I think it's likely that you're just a very sensory person and notice things that others don't. Many artists and writers are that way. You should write about how you see the world.

So, what do you think of "Monk"? I like it and sometimes identify with him. Not to a very worrisome extent, but his reaction to snakes is about on par with mine.

Re: What are you...
I like Monk
he's cool. And funny. I'm only like halfway through season 1 (stupid slow download
) like I said he reminds me a lot of myself

As far as I know....and remember that is...not even the SF do this on base UNLESS it's with blanks AND it's a training exercise.
I've been evolved in some pretty major exercises with both reserves, regular army SF and the MP's...and I've never seen them carry live ammo....EVER.
It's not done because of friendly fire, don't want to accidentally shoot someone.
Real world is one thing (think threatcon delta good example would be 9-11. I know for a fact the MP's and SF on Ft. Meade were packing that day).....just everyday duty and exercises are another.

Re: What are you...
Watching Monk season 2.
Something I just don't get, like for example in "Mr. Monk goes back to school" and "Mr. Monk goes to the circus" like when there's a witness and then the witness tries to blackmail the killer. (And obviously ends up as the next murder case
) Like why in all hells would someone DO that?? The whole "I saw it, I know how you did it, but I'm not gonna tell anyone if you _____".

Like seriously HELLO you're talking to someone whom you've just witnessed orchestrating a METICULOUS PREMEDITATED MURDER for crying out loud?? What is WRONG with people??
It just doesn't make sense

I suppose all the plots have been done before...and redone...and redone...

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
