True!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

With all due respect to religions... that social rule had become part of the "religion" in a totally different society and like had religions been started like in modern society the social rules that supposedly apply to it would have been like totally different. I'm not religious so I guess no one's gonna take this seriously but I honestly see no reason to keep following backward social rules just because the backward society that created them saw women as inferior creatures and decided that's like the way God wanted it to be in order to keep that status (and keep their women oppressed) even though it's like totally baseless and unjustly discriminatory. :? :? :? :?

Plus, it has nothing to do with the worship.

Well I'm not religious and I'm never gonna get married and I'm never even gonna be in a relationship... but even if I did... no one's superior to me just because they're like a different gender... or skin color, or height, or weight, or shoe size, or amount of earwax for crying out loud. 8)

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread 8)

Heh. But then scripture comes right back and says that "Husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church"... and well, Christ was like slowly TORTURED to death for the church, so he was pretty much willing to do anything for it... and so if everyone LISTENS to their part in things then everything works out and nobody's "better" than anybody else... or at least that's the way it's supposed to work. Men have just been conveniently ignoring that second part for most of the past 2000 years. 8)

Still it directly says that basically men are supposed to be like superior to women and rule over them not the other way around, or both genders have an equal status as human beings. Which has nothing to do with the religion itself but is a byproduct of the structure of the (way backward) society that wrote those rules. :? :?

That's true. St. Paul was a tremendous chauvinist. It doesn't mean that the scriptures were wrong about the married relationship, though. Having been married for 22 years, I can tell you that in a relationship between two people democracy doesn't work. Each partner must be willing to defer to the other in matters of disagreement. Sometimes if I disagree with my husband I choose to "submit". Other times, I hold my ground and it's his turn to do it my way because he'll "do anything for me". Neither of us can take advantage of our power over the other and still have a healthy marriage, but it's always a give and take situation. Sure, scripture could have said that men are supposed to "submit" and women are supposed to "love their husbands as Christ loved the church", but that wouldn't have made any sense at all to the people of that time... neither to the men OR the women. I think it's just amazing that the advice still works despite 2000 years of societal change, and in spite of old male chauvinist Paul and his outmoded ideas. 8)

I never said it shouldn't be like a give and take balance... just that it shouldn't be that one is decidedly superior to the other :? :?

I followed the gentle polemic between Distracted and TPoptarts. Honestly I don't think this is the right place (considering the Topic's spirit), but... Forgive, please, the temerity of an old and perhaps somewhat cynic and disenchanted Italian...

I can only say "The short tale is ended" (as already I said in "Destiny"), adding: in case it ever began!
At any rate, if you find it, please, tell to my wife.

Uh, do I see stubs of antenne on the pointy-earred urchins in that painting? A Vulcan-Human-Andorian genetic meld? How IDIC! To get that combination, surely the battle of the sexes has been resolved and we now have a truce?
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Ehhh...
But she is awake yet.
And I am sure she is also attentive.
And twice I am sure he, too, will soon be awake, again.

This one hasn't been done and the scene's atmosphere is very sensual and special.
