That's just awful. :( And he has a little girl. What a waste. That's just too young to die. Way too young. :(

And drugs - such a needless death.

So now I have a tangentially connected story I'm going to share. Sophomore year in college my roommate rented the movie Ned Kelly because it had Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom. Ned Kelly was... well, if you care, click here. Anyway, it made me realize how little I knew about Australian history. So the next year I did an independent study on Australian history. There I uncovered what became the topic of my undergrad thesis. My mentor encouraged me to apply for the Fulbright with it, so I did, and next month I'll be in Australia.

All because this movie starred Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom.

It might have been accidental, though. Sometimes mixing things can be deadly and people are unaware of it. I wouldn't want to speculate. Either way, it's still very sad.

He said in one of his last interviews that he was getting pretty stressed out from the filming to where he couldn't sleep much more than a couple hours a night, and from the reports it looks like the pills they found were all sleeping aids and anti-anxiety pills that were over the counter. So far the official explanation is still that this was an accidental OD.

It has come to my attention that The 4400 has been cancelled. And also The Dead Zone.

I did watch The 4400 for a while but lost track of it due to erratic scheduling at the local channel. I've just recently started catching it again, in reruns, from the second season.

As for The Dead Zone, that's also a show I lost track of for the same reasons, and I haven't seen beyond the first season. A shame probably, since I happen to think Nicole deBoer is awfully cute. Oh, well...
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Cool. You can make candy with it, too. And jello jigglers, I bet. 8)

That's too funny! Brain soap after all.

New York Times article on Patrick Stewart. I found it interesting.

What a terrific article! It's really nice that he takes Star Trek seriously.

It sounds like it'd cost a fortune. Most certainly for people with more money than time.

But it says it's gonna take like a few DAYS like until they send the CDs and MP3s back to you, well duh it IS snail mail after all, I have a freeware I downloaded that does exactly the same in like a few minutes. (In the background if people really have to work on so much stuff all the time and can't spare a few minutes  ) Seriously that's like totally whacked :? :wtf: :faint:

But look at the volume they're talking about here... 100 CD's minimum. They're talking about doing someone's whole CD library. If I had 400 CD's, I'd pay to have that done rather than spend the time ripping the whole library. That could take days.
