You almost got it. The right way to say it would be "Head iseseisvuspäeva". If you want to know how to write something in Estonian you can always PM me. I don't have any plans to celebrate maybe a glass of something stronger for the occasion but nothing more.

Thanks. I was recently in Tallinn and my hubby has a friend there and I just found it a bit funny that we had to talk to each other in English when our languages are so similar that it would be quite easy to learn Estonian.

At long last, I'm in Australia! :happyjump: I missed my flight in New York because my first flight was delayed, and then when I was crossing the street some idiot ran into me with her car and blamed me because I "shouldn't have been running across the crosswalk." I was trying to catch a flight. And she had *plenty* of time to stop, I looked. And who the heck doesn't expect pedestrians at JFK airport? Anyway, I was knocked onto my knee but it wasn't serious.

Then I had to go to the bank in Sydney - with my two large suitcases. Yeah, that was fun. The taxi dropped me off opposite the bank so I had to drag my suitcases across four lanes - remembering to look the other way for traffic - and then wheel the suitcases into the bank. People probably thought I was homeless.

When I was on the last leg of my flight just out from Sydney, the water below looked so blue you could hardly tell where the sky ended and water began. It was lovely. And the university is letting me audit Historical Aboriginal Australia, which is a great opportunity for me to learn something on a topic I'm most unfamiliar with.

What an experience,JadziaKathryn! I am glad you arrived mostly in one piece. Traveling can be so stressful - even without getting hit by a car. I am so glad you are telling us about your trip. Please keep with us!

People seem to blame the victim all the time. Why? This is very minor, but in Walmart last year, a woman shot out between two coat racks into a aisle where I was walking and hit me with her shopping cart right in the stomach. It knocked the wind out of me and she blamed me for being in her way. I wonder what she does with her car? Gives you the shivers thinking about that.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Congrats on your arrival Jadzia! Good luck! (and watch out for those pesky cars!)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I just found this online:

You Know You’re from Victoria When…..

(it makes me laugh my ass off as Victoria was my birth-place and all of these things are so very, very true)

"The Bay Centre" just sounds wrong.

Your life was dramatically impacted by the four feet of snow that fell during Blizzard '96.

You've gotten high at the Roxy.

You've owed money to Robbins Parking and gotten out of paying it successfully.

A stroll through Mayfair Mall turns into an informal high school reunion.

You can sing the tune to "Spaaaaare a little change todaaaaay" (and know who the individual is who assigned a song to panhandling).
(I do! This guy is semifamous downtown for his call, has been for like 15 years)

You remember Uforia and the Cheesecake Factory with a sense of nostalgia.

You remember when Langford was the doorway to Hell and no one in their right mind would buy property there.

You've enjoyed a slice of Brickyard pizza at 3:00 a.m.

You compare all other soft-serve ice cream to Beacon Hill Drive-In (and none are as good, though all will give you bigger portions).

You've been on at least one field trip to Fort Rodd Hill and to Goldstream to smell the rotting salmon.

You can navigate your way around expertly during a torrential downpour but an inch of snow renders you and your car, immobile. A true Victorian will never drive in snow unless absolutely necessary...like, an out-of-granola emergency.

You recognize April 20th as a good reason to celebrate.
(Ahhhhh, good old 420....there's a reason that the Official 420 Wikipedia page
has as its photograph...of all places in the world.... Victoria BC!)
    :lol: {It's a wonder anything gets done on the West Coast!}

Snow pisses you off because it kills your flowers.

Tony Parsons played a major role in your education of worldly events.

Fan Tan Alley freaked you out as a child.

    You've ordered M.E.C. from a catalog.

As a child, the gift shop on BC Ferries was the epitome of good times.

    You've enjoyed a Sunshine Breakfast.

You can sing the "Spirit of '94" Commonwealth Games song and have hugged Klee Wyck.

You considered anywhere else in the world to be fairly second-rate

So this is hilarious. I was photoshopping this pic for CX and I noticed Archer's feet. They're completely gimpy!

Also, his boots look like Napoleon Dynamite moon boots.

Is it just me, or does T'Pol's chest look lopsided on that one?
