Vulcan dentition

Postby Asso » Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:22 pm

I have a question: do Vulcans have a deciduous dentition?
That's not a mere curiosity.
There's an idea that's whirling in my mind, and I want to be sure of what I may do.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I believe that mammals all have deciduous teeth, or "milk teeth". I would assume Vulcan females nurse their infants. Those chest wall assets of T'Pol's wouldn't have much purpose otherwise.

Vulcans must therefore have deciduous teeth. 8)

Very well! Thanks.
So, It might be interesting to see what it could happen if Vulcan logic meets human fables about this matter. :D

Thanks.
But I have to be honest.

Or, because they live so long, a third set of teeth. Natural wear and tear over that long a life span, even just slurping down the plomeek and munching salads, would make oral surgery a profitable line of work. :)

Maybe that's what we've been exporting to Vulcan since 2063 - dentists and flouride toothpaste.

Well, you got to think, dentistry is not usually done under full, knock 'em out anesthetic. It involves a LOT of touching and on the face near the contact points. Who would you rather go to, a Vulcan dentist who may accidentally download (he missed the old morning meditation session) to you all the supressed anxieties he accidentally uploaded from previous patients or a human who has the psychic ability of a rock. Probably a heck of an unfilled (pardon the pun) market there.

There was that episode where T'Pol said it was impossible for her to have a cavity because she'd had a fluoride treatment, but Phlox insisted she did have a cavity, without ever saying "cavity."

On the other hand, this could really solve the problem of having your mouth immobilized when the dentists asks you a question...
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Maybe they use the pressure points on their face instead of anaesthetic? :dunno: But yeah, I'd hate to be that particular Vulcan dentist's patient that morning!

That is cute! Have one of TnT's (Lorian?)kids lose a tooth and Trip introduces him to the Tooth Fairy?
