My dad still likes to tell stories about how he put me to sleep in a shoebox and then hid me from my mother by sticking the box in a drawer and shutting it. I weighed about 5 lbs, then. (He was 19. Give him a break!)

Gosh, Distracted, a shoebox? Well, I'd get a really big box a man could fit inside of and paint it up like a shoebox and on Father's Day, say "here Dad, it's payback time!"

I was a month premature and a weeny little thing 'cause mom smoked (back before they knew it caused growth retardation). I apparently fit quite well into the box and didn't mind at all. Mom, on the other hand, was horrified. She's never let him live it down.
